and he thinks that I need to see and Orthopedic specialist. This all started when I was in a car accident in November. I can't believe what a pain this has been :grimace: no pun intended. Because I am a righty and of course it is my right hand that has been injured 8o it has not had a chance to heal. They did x-rays initially and nothing is broken but I am still having tons of pain in my hand, thumb and forearm. Some numbness, and sometimes tingling :worried: . I posted a while ago that they might have to do cortisone injections but now I guess it is up to the specialist. Who knows how long it will take to get an appointment :nurse: . I hope it is soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your car accident. :( I hope they can get you in to see specialist real soon and get it taken care of. Being in pain like that can REALLY be a big pain! :grimace: Let us know how it goes. :)

Oh Marla! I hope you find what is causing the pain and it is fixed right away. What happened in the car accident? Did you break it?

I don't remember the car accident...I mean I don't recall the actual impact. They thought because I was hit from behind, I must have been holding the wheel and my hand jammed forward into the wheel and my hand/forearm probably bent into an unnatural position causing damage. Actually, they x-rayed it after the car accident, and nothing was broken. I have been going for physiotherapy at least 2 times a week since mid November and she has been using all kinds of treatments on it (heat, cold, ultra sound, laser)...but nothing is helping. Actually sometimes it is worse (ie when I am on the computer :computer: for too long, or when I am writing too much) My physiotherapist thinks now it is related to the tendons or ligaments or something.
Ouch!! Hope you get some answers soon!!!

ouch! Hope they can do something for you. :nurse:
Is the pain/numbness/tingleing in your whole hand or more just in the fingers? My aunt suffered similar symptoms a few years back after being in an accident. It ended up being caused by a pinched nerve in her back. Likely from the jar of the accident. She was in Physio for about six months (daily) but it has helpped. She still has an odd day where it stiffens up but generally she is 100% compared to what she was.

I hope that they figure it out soon and you are back to being pain free. :)

The pain/numbness/tingling is from half way down my arm (below my elbow) right down through my hand and into my fingers. It was really bad right after the car accident and the physiotherapist really worked my neck and shoulders (I also had a whiplash and a sprained neck), and eventually the tingling diminished. I think because I use my hand all the time, it doesn't have a chance to heal. I do wear a very constricting splint when I am working to try and cushion is a little.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I'll let you know what happens (and when I get an appointment...I hope it doesn't take months)
