View Full Version : Wednesday
Fast week so far. Laundry, dd dance, ds golf..poor kid came out to breakfast at 7:35 this am and all the sudden got this panicked look on his face cause he realized that he had to be at school for orchestra at 7:30!!! DH raced him up there..hope he didn't get in trouble.
Bachelorette tonite and then that new celebrity thing.
Work today...still quiet due to reading week which is good for catching up.
DS headed out today with the school for his trip. He was so excited. I hope he has a good time and has enough warm clothes packed. Won't see him now til Friday. Tonight won't be much different without him as I have my fitness class and then the Bachelorette, which he never watched with me anyway, but tomorrow during Survivor I'll miss his presence.

Ds is still home sick today. I was supposed to go on a field trip with dd's class to the art museum. I have to stay with ds and she won't go if I'm not there. I am going to clean, clean, clean if the baby will let me!
At least we didn't get the ice storm we were supposed to today. More bad weather is coming this weekend though.
My mom is leaving for Vegas and then Phoenix next week and I REALLY want to go!!
It's actually snowing here today! This is only the third snowfall of the year. You all may be envious, but it isn't good for the state at all. We had a drought crisis last year and if they don't get enough snow this year, it will probably be the worse year for forest fires and drought. I think I would rather have snow. LOL
Not much on the agenda. Probably will clean a bit around the house. We leave in 5 days8o
WOW Amy are you all packed and ready....are you driving and dh driving too? OH....try to think of it as an adventure....I have memories of it....seems like yesterday we were driving across country....two kids, a dog....ARGH...although we didn't do it in Winter....I am excited for ya....
I have a eye doctor appointment this morning...going to get different contacts....daily ones this time....kids have school this morning....early out today...ds has Mad Science....
DS looks better today, but still like a truck hit him.......I am still upset....althought I did talk to the room mother, last night.....she told me that he was given clean cold compresses on the boat....but I still have issues that they didn't send him to the nurse when they arrived at school...and since I need to pick ds up today...I have an appointment with the Prinicpal...HE IS MY SON....I really thought they would take better care of him....you trust them all day with your kids...and its just mind boggling....
well...off to the bus...
wish me luck....oh now I feel like an adult Diane...thanks....

Not a lot going on around here today. I have an interview this afternoon with a lady and her husband who has a 17 month old dd who has Spina Bifida... Unfortunately there aren't too many day care providers out there who are willing to take special needs or handicapped children, and since I took one I've had several phone calls for more. Lately it seems like I've got a revolving door in my house, between county nurses coming in to weigh my little Downs baby... physical theropists, two to three day's a week. I've got another little one who's speech theropist comes in once, sometimes twice a week. I enjoy it though... makes me feel like I'm actually doing something good.
Were invited over to my mom's for dinner tonight... then off to run some errands. We totally forgot about our new son-inlaws birthday... I shouldn't say forgot but I don't think we were ever told when it was (Valentines day) so I'm looking through all of my recipe books trying to find something special that I can make so I can have them over to celebrate his birthday. I feel SO dumb/stupid... bad because we didn't do anything to acknowledge it.
Angie... I hope your ds feels better real soon. Bummer about having to miss your dd's field trip... did she end up going or did she stay home with you? Hope you get a lot of cleaning done.
Bev... I hope your ds has a good time on his trip. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Ann... I hope your ds wasn't too late this morning. LOL At least he remembered.
Gave a good day all...
Diane...

DH is home until noon, so he's running oldest ds to school. :yippee: (Simple things to thrill me, huh? LOL!) I need to run to the post office before I pick him up today and then we have nothing going on tonight - except tv for me and "sports night" for dks and dh....they sure picked a good night for that! :D

Snow is melting, so dd and I got out of here! Cleaned house until late in the night last night, ran to the GS store, credit union, other boring places. Getting things ready for her b'day party.
Can't wait to see the Bachelorette tonight. :yippee:

I'll have to set the VCR to tape the bachelorette...does it start at 8:00?
Oldest ds has a playoff game, and they really need to win so they get placed in the semi-finals this week.
I'm sorry if I sound like a pest, but could ya'll get those hockey vibes going again tonight with a big...

Thanks for your help :D

Today is a very sad day. I've been trying to get a hold of the man I clean since yesterday morning. He didn't return my call and I tried to call him 7 more times. Today I called his dad (he's 89 and lives next door to him) and he told me he died this morning. He shoveled to much snow and had a heart attack. I'm in such shock.
I really love these guys. When I got my "real" job in September I kept cleaning them because I couldn't imagine saying good-bye to them. It's just so sad.

GO TEAM GO!!!!!!!!
Hello,
We got a big dump of snow last night and this morning, about 5 inches or more with more snnow on the way. I am so ready for spring.
Have dck's today and DH is leaving for three days for work. So since the roads are horrible I am going to stay home as much as possible.
Hope you all have a good day.

Linda- I am so sorry for your loss.
Marla- Go Team Go! Go Team Go! Go Team Go!
Not much happened today. Work, home. I have no clue what to fix for supper tonight. I am getting tired of the same old things. I have to work at the vet tomorrow, so I was thinking crock pot, but that doesn't help tonight. I also need to wash, dry, and put away some laundry. I need to work on my e-portfolio too, but it looks like I am putting it off to the last minute like everything else. I hope everyone has a great day.

How exciting, Marla! :yippee:
And for tonight ~ Go Team Go!!
What sad news linda -- how old was the man who died? Did he leave family other than his father behind. Prayers to all.
Good Luck to your son Marla, How exciting for him.
"Go Team Go!!!" :yippee::yippee::yippee:
Linda, sorry to hear about your friend.
Amy, I'll be thinking about you as you start your trek across the country.
Everyone's team: Go! Our Sr. girls BB are ranked #1 in the district, and until last Sat. were ranked # 1 AAA in the state. It was their first lost all season. They play tomorrow in regionals. Doubt we go tomorrow. Pretty sure they will win and we'll go Sat. to watch them BEAT the team that delivered their only loss (assuming this team doesn't get beat first - we gave them their first loss during the season's first flight - it was a bloody game - in my opinion they let these kids play too rough - we lost a starter that game to a torn ACL). But I digress.
Diane, don't take on more than you can handle - especially since you're just one person.
Ds has drama group rehearsals tonight. I need to get in gear so we can leave, but here I sit on the puter.
I've got student folders to organize for upcoming P/T conferences, and a couple spec. educ. referrals to fill out.

Rick was only 64, same age as my Dad. He has two Aunts that live on Cape Cod in their 80's, who he took care of. And a sister who lives in Maryland. He has so much stuff in his house I'm not sure who will take care of it all. He collected hundreds of model cars, planes, figurines. His basement was filled with cases full of Norman Rockwell x-mas scenes. He has tons that were still in boxes. Hundreds of plates. We used to dust them together. Not to mention his collection of unopened CD's and movies. A tad bit obsesive compulsive??
He does have a son, but in the 6 years I worked for him he never mentioned him.
Plus he had 3 dogs, and 8 cats. Although you would never know if you went into his house it was imaculate, he vaccumed everyday and cleaned the litter boxes twice a day.
He would go out and feed the stray cats at the convience store by the dumpster and heated his bird bath so the birds could have a bath in the winter. The animal world is going to be sad.

Hi all. Typical work day....although my supervisor is in a bitchy mood and taking it out on us!
Got another dump of snow yesterday....luckily the highway was clear today for my out of town school work.
Ds got a note home that he needs some help with time and money in school. Dug out the workbooks that we have at home, but does anyone have any good websites with practice sheets/questions for him......3rd grade.
Even though it is Wednesday, Saturday still seems soooo far away! We will have a 3 day weekend though as the teachers have an PD day on Monday.
