It seems like we have alot of Canadian members. I am just curious what your weather is like where you are? When is it going to warm up for you and how hot does it get in the summer?

I just love having people from all over the world here. It is so neat that we can all be so far away from one another and have so much in common. This is great fun!!

I was born in Ontario, and have lived all my life here. The weather here is really weird....sometimes we have a nice spring from about beginning of April until the 3rd week in May...maybe in the high 60's to low 70's. Summer usually comes towards the end of May and lasts until the end of August and is usually in the low to mid 80's. We have had years when we hardly have any spring, and it gets really hot and humid in April. We have had really hot summers where the temperature is mid to high 80's with a lot of humidity (I don't like those summers because it is too humid to be outdoors).

I agree...it's great meeting new friends from all over the world!!!!!

Morning Angie. On average, spring starts end March - beginning April with temps starting to rise to above zero Celcius. But, mother nature makes every year different....last year on March 4 people were out mowing their lawns as compared to this year with a winter with heavy snow and yet more falling last night. Leaves are on the trees by mid-end of May, and the old addage is that it is safe to plant your garden after the May long weekend. June is usually what I would call summer and that will last until end of August....but sometimes warm/hot weather lasts well into September. A hot summer day around here is +30C with an average summer day around +25C.
April and October are the real transitional months....iat any given day it can be warm/freezing, rain/snow, freezing rain/sleet....and all that in a matter of hours sometimes! LOL

Here in southern Ontario, where I'm from, our spring temps. are about +10 (celcius) or higher and begin anwhere from March - April, and last until mid - late May. Summers can get pretty hot and humid (my favourite kind), and last until sometimes mid-September. Our nights get cool and sometimes require wearing a jacket. Last summr though, our weather kind of sucked and it was cool even during the day! Our winters start around mid to late November but sometimes we don't get snow that stays on the ground until December....it lasts right up until March usually.

Marla has said it all for this area!

Marla~ We could almost be neighbors. I'm just outside Owen Sound.

Lot's of snow here in the winter, since we are just of the lake.

BevJ - what part of Southern Ontario are you in? Are you our neighbor too?

I'm not far from Kitchener. We used to camp near Owen Sound in Hepworth.

dh came home today and said he was asked to take a transfer to another office in Mississauga. This would be quite a commute each day, so we would have to move. I don't know what to think, I'm still in shock. We didn't see that coming.
He has until the end of next week to think about it and let them know. He would be making a bit more money and more chance for future promotion, which sounds good. Other than my job and a few of dh family, there is not much keeping us here. dh does have family in that area also. We wouldn't be too far from the family we are near now, (just a couple of hours).
If he decides to go for it, he would be starting in June.
We haven't mentioned it to the dk's and are hesitating what to say to them. dd is having a difficult time as it is, this may set her off even more.
I think we just need a few days to put it all into perspective. I'm so overwhelmed!
:rolleyes:?(:crazyroll::nervous::):grimace:

This happened to me about a year ago. We moved 1 hour 15 minutes from where we were. Away from family and to some family. It was the best step we ever took!!! Good luck to you on your decision!

Don't you just hate these kind of decisions?? Sounds like a great opportunity for your DH. Are you able to be transferred with your job? Find something similar in the new town?
Kids adjust fairly well to moves. Maybe its just what your DD needs right now. New friends new teachers.

Good luck whatever you decide!

Hello to everyone. I too am a neighbour originally from La Belle Province of Quebec but now reside in Ontario. Bev you say you are close to Kitchener. I am curious what close means. I am in Kitchener.
