I'm among the computer living!!! We just moved into our house a few days ago and just got logged on to the internet for the first time! I'm so happy to FINALLY have my own house and my own computer again! I have missed you guys. Now I'm have to figure out how this new borad works! LOL
I hope every one here is doing good. I hope to be back to posting on a regular basis very soon. We have basically finished all the unpacking. Now it's just actually getting everything organized.

Welcome Back!
Alaska??? Wow!
Good luck with all the unpacking and adjusting stuff :)
So far I love Alaska! It is so beautiful. I also prefer the cold to the heat and humidity of North Carolina! So far it hasn't been too extremely cold and we are in the up swing of spring. All the snow has melted and the temps are in the 30's and 40's. The sunlight has been the hardest to adjust to. We got here the first week of Feb. and since then it gets about 5 minutes lighter per day. As of now it's light at about 6:15 am and gets completely dark just about 10 pm!
The rooms in our house are smaller than the rooms in our last house, but we managed to fit everything in. The kids are doing well.
My dd is doing good in school. They do things a little differently here, but she's doing great with the change.
I've been on the computer 2 days in a row now!!! I'm so excited!

Welcome back. Alaska, wow! I'd know I couldn't take all the cold, but I bet it's beautiful. Always loved the show Northern Exposure. Would love to visit, just wouldn't want to stay.

That is a whole lot of daylight!! When do you get to the "dark all day" period? I am so glad you've gotten moved and settled in a bit.
Welcome back!!!! My dh is now on deployment until August and want all the advice you can give me on the subject matter. Especially, what to do when they don't have school.

I don't think I would ever get my kids to bed if it stayed light here until 10 p.m! LOL! Good luck with your organizing - moving is such a big job!!

Alaska ~ Wow
Too cold for me. :smallsnow I've always wanted to visit though.
Glad your settling in ok. Moving is always so much work.
Just when I was excited about having a computer again, we had to take it in to have some work done on it!
I think the darkness starts in the winter I'm not exactly sure. We live in Anchorage so we will not have 24 hours or darkness. I think at the point when it's the darkest we will only have 6 hours of daylight.
Another thing- it's really not that cold here. Not as cold as I thought anyway. You think of Alaska you think is freezing, but we haven't had that yet. I have been told it's been a mild winter, so who knows. The coldest it's been since we'vw been here is about 5 degrees with the wind chill at -12. But that was just one day. I think it was 50 yesterday! And it's still in the low 30's at night. But it is SO beautiful here.
glad your move went well....sounds like your really going to like it there, Look forward to seeing you posting again...
It's great to see you back Jen! I'm glad all is going well there. I look forward to hearing all about life in Alaska! I have a friend who visited there a couple years ago and she says it's just beautiful! You'll have to keep us informed! :)
