Lately, I have been concerned for bad breath. I was wondering "Do you use breath mints?" I think I have tried everyone that there is at the market. What kind do you use?

Are you getting regular dental check ups? Bad breath can be a sign of gum disease.
I don't use mints, but I do chew gum all the time and think I have a fresh minty breath!

I do get regular checkups. And no one has ever told me about a problem. I guess that I am just paranoid. My DB told me when I was 15 yrs. That I had bad breath. I think it just haunts me.

What is your favorite gum? I don't chew gum very often.

ROFL!!!

I have always chewed Denteyne, but they changed the formula recently and I don't like it, so now I chew Trident.

I have heard that somethimes breath mints can actually make bad breath worse. Because of the sugar in them. Some how it breaks down and makes the problem worse!

Anyway, I'm addicted to cinnamon Altoids.

good luck!

Be sure to brush your tongue as far back as you can stand to. Also I chew ice breakers gum and I can pop it like no body's business. When I'm stressed I can pop with every chew. This of course is so annoying to others, so I try not to have gum in public when I'm stressed.

Floss, floss, floss. All that stinky stuff stuck between your (and my) teeth makes for bad breath too.

I like Ice Breakers or Extra for gum and Altoids for mints. :)

I agree that many times bad breath originates in the mouth (rotten tooth/cavity). Lots of good suggestions--regular check-ups, brushing your tongue, flossing.

Dieting (the release of ketones which result in the burning of fat) also causes really bad breath.

I also think it can originate in your stomach and foods you eat can cause it--are you eating spicy or garlic-y foods? I can always tell when dh has had Chinese food or jambalaya.

I wouldn't try to cover up food-related bad breath with mints--I had a friend in high school who loved garlic and there was nothing more disgusting than her garlic breath mixed with mints! Yuck! LOL!

I saw something on tv last week about how important it is to brush your tongue. They said that as far as bad breath goes... that brushing your tongue was almost as important as brushing your teeth... and as long as you brushed your tongue you wouldn't have bad breath. I'm always pretty self conscience about my breath so I now brush my teeth AND my tongue, as well as flossing of course. LOL I never chew gum or any kind of breath mints though... I HATE mint... Ugh!!!

Bye...

I like Dentyne Ice myself but have been known to pop a mint or two in emergency situations.

Listerine apperently has these new 'pocket packs' out that are thin, paperlike strips that you place on your tongue and they just disolve in a second or two and leave your mouth "minty fresh". They are suppose to taste better than the Listerine mouth wash. I see all the teenagers walking around with them but have never tried them myself.

I like Dentyne Ice and Ice Breakers gum (the blue pack) and Spearmint Altoids.
