party ideas needed for a 7yo boy

OK all you brilliant women (and David L :)) I need ideas for Jay's 7th bday party on May 19th. He is thinking along the lines of an army man party. I would love to think of somewhere to take the kiddos but in our small community we are somewhat limited. HELP

Is there an airport nearby??? How about a "model airplane" field? Sorry....not many ideas in my mind just yet for the "army man" party. I'll post some if I think of them.

-- Might be kind of fun to hide those little plastic army men all over the yard (or in the house if the weather is bad) and have a scavenger hunt using clues. Or just hide tons of the men, and see who can find the most!

We are going to a 6 year olds party this week at a bowling alley. They have all kinds of party packages.

I also have a magazine called Birthday Parties Express that have a whole line of Army man parties supplies. Including an army costume!

Do you have a public park nearby and is the weather warm enough to where you could set up an "obstacle course" for "basic training"?


I like the other ideas of doing things with the small plastic army men -- faces, scavenger hunt, etc.
