GRRRRRRRRR!!! Asked dh today to set the schedule for the trip so that I could make reservations...here's what he came up with
leave Houston on Friday, get as far as Wichita Falls (5 hours)
drive all Saturday to Colorado Springs
stay till Monday am
go to Denver, rat around town and go to the game, spend the night
drive to Estes Park and Rocky Moutain Park, stay a day
drive to Durango, stay a day and a half and then drive home
YIKES!!!

I want to spend most of the time in Colorado Springs, and then stop in Durango on our way home...we are doing some major negotiating!!! LOL

Yikes is right! Make sure you take the t.v./vcr!

I don't do well in long car trips. I get so tired (the road and motion lulls me to sleep) and if I try to look down and read I get queasy.

Well, just think of all that time you'll have to chat! ;) LOL!

Double YIKES! So, how is the negotiating going? :) Next time don't ask him for the schedule and just go ahead and make the plans on your own - that always works out better! ;) LOL!

I wouldn't do very well with that plan either... I could no way spend that much time in the car traveling. Good luck with the negotiations... I hope you'll be able to change his mind. :)

Bye...

Well, part of the problem is that it's a LOONNNGGGG way to Denver from here! LOL I think we are going to base more out of Colorado Springs.

Never let the man make the plans!! LOL I just tell dh the plans and he drives. :) That would be a hard trip to make for the kids. Hopefully, you can persuade him to see this as a relaxing trip, not a marathon.

Is there anyway you can take more time for the trip?

Schedule a night together to watch Vacation together. After he sees all the hazzards encountered by the fierce schedule of the Griswolds'... then you negotiate!

Glad you were able to work things out. I was getting car sick just reading about it.:) Too bad you couldn't get the place you wanted. :( Maybe you'll find a place you will enjoy even more. Good luck!

MM! Look it the time as family time and plan many activities for the kids while driving. When I travel with the boys, I allow them to pack their own backpacks with small, portable toys. I buy a new coloring book and crayons for each along with a pocket travel game.
My adivse to you is stay organized. Bring along a plastic tub to hold all the toys and games to the car doesn't get cluttered.
There is also the reliable game boy :-).
ßß!

Arianna..probably the ONLY time I am truly organized is when we are on long car trips!!! LOL
Thanks for the tips.
