View Full Version : Boy question
ok, ds will be 8 this August (wow I can't believe that!) anyway....he is really into CARS, and Trucks....loves the racing video games....sorta likes sports...soccer....skateboarding.....I truely believe he has out grown his TOYS....we have an entire toy box full of trucks, cars, hot wheel track.....
was there a certain age when your sons...stopped playing with toys?????
just curious
Let him have his toys!!!! People are still stunned that dd plays with dolls..she is a little girl! I don't remember exactly when ds gave up his hot wheels, but it was really tough for him to let them go. He still loves Legos.
LOL, :biglaugh: oh I wasn't going to get rid of them...LOL.....I just wondered why he doesn't play with them anymore....
occassionally he will drag out the legos....and sometimes the hot wheels and track...if someone ie...me or dd will play with him.....but usually its, game boy, or X-box as his choice of toy...lol..

MY DS is 8. HE still has his hot wheels and tracks. Doesnt play with them alot though, usually only if he has a friend over or he plays with them with the DCK's..
He still loves his lego's and can sit there forever and play. He does play his game boy whenever he gets the notion, but we dont have an X box or anything like that...
OK..it didn't sound that way when I read it! LOL
Probably cause it's easier to do the computer/video games and people think it's "cooler"

My nephew is 8 1/2 and I think he plays with "toys" the most when he is with my boys - although he is still really into GI Joes. My 14 yo old nephew also still loves Legos, although he probably wouldn't admit it to any of his friends. ;) He is really good about playing with my dks when he is here and I think it's sort of a treat for him to have an 'excuse' to play with stuff he otherwise wouldn't. :)

This sounds just like both of my dks!!! That's why I limit the time they may use those items. (If they play game boy (or Game cube) for 1 hour...they must find something else to do for the next hour.) Works for us!
I am amazed at ds. He's growing up, but he's not. On the one hand his voice is changing, he's shaving (and yes out of necessity) and now drives me to school every day and yet every morning he loves to watch Sponge Bob while he eats his breakfast. Very sweet in a way.
Boys are just funny...tonight, ds asked me if I need him to stay up later and watch Survior with me...since they were eating bugs, you know mommy, you might get scared.....LOL...well...he stayed up till just before they did eat bugs....he whispered that he really didn't want to see that part.....too cute....
Kat the spongebob thing stays with them I think...dh can't not finish a Popeye cartoon....
