Hey guys. Well, dd has a fractured elbow. She and dh didn't get home til after midnight from the ER last night, so she was one tired girl this morning. So she is in a sling, they don't cast it because it is a joint. The swelling has already gone down, but she was in a lot of pain. Never a dull moment with children around I guess.
Thanks for all your concern.

I'm so sorry, Kathy! Poor baby! Did they give her anything for pain or can you only give her motrin or some other otc pain reliever? Is she having trouble sleeping? Do you guys have paracetamol there? Dh loves it and swears by it (this, from a guy who doesn't like to take anything), but no one has ever heard of it here.
Hope she's feeling better soon. Bless her little heart!
How long will it take to heal? Bless her heart! Bless your dh's heart for doing the ER thing..not sure mine's been there except when HE was the patient!!!! LOL Hope she is on the mend soon.

Kathy... I was just wondering how your dd's elbow was doing? Hope it's feeling much better by now. :)
Oh I am so sorry for her, I hope she feels better and on the mend soon....
Im sorry Kathy about your dd! I had a fractured elbow too whenI was 10 years old. Is she in a cast or just a sling?
Sorry to hear about dd's arm. My ds broke his arm when he was 6 falling off the monkey bars. Broke both bones and you needed no x-ray to prove it. ER wouldn't even touch it, just put it on a pillow and told him not to move it. We then had to go to an orthapedic surgeon. All the time in ER ds kept asking for ice, then wouldn't let them put it on. Then he yelled for a pill, give me a pill. When asked why he wanted a pill, he yelled, "For the pain!" I felt so bad. I was so worried when they put him to sleep. Then when surgery was over, they wheeled him out and he was this tiny little thing in a big bed with a cast up to his shoulder.
Hope dd is on the mend soon.

Sorry to hear about your dd's arm. I hope that she is feeling better soon. Did they give her some meds for the pain? I hope so. I imagine that it hurts pretty bad. Keep us updated.

Nice of you ladies to be concerned! She is fine, healing beautifully. It happened over a month ago, so she is doing just great. The never did cast it, just a sling for 4 days and lots of advil and ice. Thanks again for the concern!
Kathy, just wanted to commiserate. Two nights ago I spent three hours in the ER with my ds, he had a fractured finger! Not so bad as the elbow, but painful (and a pain) none the less! Whew. Hope all is better at your house! Amy
