Just a little story to share about word meanings.

One of our vocabulary words for our next reader was "jig". I wanted to make sure that the kids knew what a jig was, so I went into a discussion of folk dancing and an Irish jig. One little one said or it could be like "gettin jiggy with it". :lol: Do you think I need to use a more modern example?

Wasn't there a rhyme about a pig doing a jig. Maybe you could use that rhyme and explain that a jig is a tyype of dance. I am lost on this one, but if it means anything I think that it is important that they learn the Irish jig too.
