This old dog is trying to learn a new trick. Last week, my and I started Piano lessons. DD is excited. She has practiced and practiced. I am afraid that she will get bored or tired of the piano.

I am doing ok thus far. It has help my typing some - I think!! LOLOL

I had lessons for a little over a year as a kid, then the teacher moved out of province and I never got around to going again. I am now the owner of a piano that no one in the house can play (not much anyway). I'd like to take lessons again if I ever find the time. With dk #3 on the way who knows when that will be.

How exciting! I took lessons when I was in elementary school. Dh also plays and a few years ago we got the piano that his grandpa bought him when he was little. We don't play as much as we would like, but I hope we can get the dks to take lessons some day. It was one of the things I LOVED about dh when we were dating (that he could play). He would also learn songs that I loved and then surprise me! :)

That's a trick this old dog would dearly love to learn. I am just not good with anything that involves eye-hand coordination. Baseball, typing, etc.

I had to take Public School Music in college and as part of my final I had to play and sing. I had such a hard time I literally cried. The instructor (who was an accomplished musician who thought it was beneath him to have to teach a music class to potential teachers) just could not understand that I could not make my fingers do what I wanted them to do. :nervous: He also told me I sang in 3 different keys. That class left an awful "taste in my mouth" and I did so want to be able to do it. I managed to survive that class with a B.

I'm excited for you! I think it's great! Keep us informed of your progress. Invite us to your recital.

I absolutely LOVE piano... and have always wanted to learn, and some day I'd still like to take lessons. My neighbor and his wife, who just recently retired, are taking piano lessons and doing very well. I told them that after they learn they can teach me. LOL :) Now, my youngest dd only has to HEAR a "demo" on her keyboard and within a week or two has it down perfect. I'm SOOO envious! LOL She didn't want to start out with simple things like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". LOL Good luck with the lessons... and I hope your dd doesn't get bored with it!
