Angie R and I had a really nice wedding production/video given to us as a gift. One of the things they did was put some of the wedding footage to the song "We go Together" from Grease!

Get out! You like Monty Python?

Not to be sexist, but I don't know many females that like Monty Python.

To show her true love for me, Angie R. bought me The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life for Christmas one year. But... I'm not to watch them when she is around! lol

... we have a similar rule about Dirty Dancing :)

Amy
04-23-2001, 01:11 PM
Who couldn't like Holy Grail??? Along the same line of humor-do you like Cabin Boy with Chris Elliott? I thought it was hysterical, but some people hated it.

AnnW
04-23-2001, 02:09 PM
Oh no, Amy...you sound like a yankee gal??? I may have to cancel lunch!!! LOL Watch out, around thick New Yawk accents, I get so southern the mollasses starts running!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Brichard...gonna sing me the blues??
Thought of you the other night, was asking where someone lived and we got into an argument about which side was east!! LOL

What about Young Frankenstien..."damn your eyes"
"sorry too late" LOL

As to Monty Python...I didn't really care for the Flying Circus tv show (that and Benny Hill) but my roommate in college loved them, she told me that it was ok, that they really were "intellectual" shows!!! ROFL!
DS had a friend spend the night last year and he brought Holy Grail and not remembering it well, I let them watch...needless to say, I have doomed my ds to nerddom cause that was the LAST time he will see it till he is older!!!!

Amy
04-23-2001, 02:14 PM

I say it like this -Rah chester

Say Water
I say-Wah ter

NYC and Long Islanders are very different from us

AnnW

I love Monty Python! I must admit, Life of Brian was much funnier after I lived in England for a while...there are quite a few terms, references, gestures and slang words they use that I didn't fully "get" before living there. I also love British sit-coms like Faulty Towers (with John Cleese), Are You Being Served, and Black Adder with Rowan Atkinson. Funny stuff!

Brichard

I liked Chris Miller when he was on Letterman, but I have not seen Cabin Boy.

Raising Arizona is another one of my favorites. Except for the Godfather movies, I've never been a big fan of drama. But... Angie R and I are watching the top 100 Films rated by the AFI.

I watched Casablanca and Gone With the Wind for the first time this year and really enjoyed both movies!

How in the heck do you get 3 syllables out of water? Lets not forget, I've lived in NC and they still said it with 2 syllables! LOL

To those who like Monty Python (and how can you not?) There was also a show on SEVERAL years back -- in my hometown it came on after Benny Hill -- and had a guy named Dave as the host. It was pretty funny, too.

To those who like the British sitcoms like Are You Being Served, there is another great one called Keeping Up Appearances -- it is about a lady named Hyacinth and her sisters: Daisy, a slobbish woman; Rose, a tramp; and Violet, who drives a mercedes and has room for a pony (sorry this won't make sense to some -- that is a line from the show). It is really funny.

I think the show you are thinking of was "Dave Allen at Large."

Does that sound right?

I had to blow some dust off my cerebellum to come up with that name!
