well, dh and I are thinking of getting rollerskates...the old fashioned ones.....look like sneakers....with two wheels in the front...two in the back (the kind from our youth ) think of getting the entire family on wheels.....

anyone else out there have them? are they still fun? thinking this would be a great way to get out with the kids more this summer....

I tried the inline skates and didn't really care for them.....hurt my ankles...and basically scared the daylights out of myself...

any tips or advice?

oh helmets and pads will be purchased too...:biglaugh:

Good luck and have fun!!! I have never liked rollerskating - think it's because I fell all of the time? ?( LOL!

I would love to rollerskate...Just don't have the balance (due to the CP). I never learned how to ride a bike either...It's rather fustrating. I need to try lerning again. Haven't tried since I was a kid.

My sister tried thre in-line skates but fell smacked her chin on the ground and ended up with stitches.8o

My nephew has got in-lines and loves them.

I have some! They are made by Sketchers. I bought them last summer and they are so fun! My dd got a pair for her birthday in March and loves hers too.

I have a pair of inline skates and I hate them. They are so uncomfortable. The skates are so much better, but maybe because I grew up rollerskating and not rollerblading.

Advice... beware of hills! They aren't as fun in your 30's as they were when you were a kid! In fact hills are scary!!!!!

I have in-line skates and enjoy them. The only problem is we really don't have a place to use them anymore. Both kids also have inline and prefer them over traditional. I don't know if they'd find the sneaker kind easier then tradtional since they are so much lighter.
