guess everyone is paranoid to start one! LOL
Not much on here...ds is back home, we let him try pizza last night...BIG mistake, he's in lots of pain so no school for him.
Getting my roots done at 9:30...that's about it for my exciting day.

I actually have the day off! It was so slow yesterday, that i got all my work done for today done. And with Monday off, I'm going to be a slug. Dh has been working for his brother all week, so the house looks horrible without someone keeping it clean daily. I did my gardening this a.m. (before it rains) and now I will do housework. It doesn't sound so bad when you haven't done it in over a month! ROFL

Ann-Can ds's Dr. give you a road map or menu to help build his tolerance up to a more variety of food? I would imagine that heavy foods like pizza would be too much considering his diet had been really strict and he was so weak. I remember in college, I didn't eat fried foods for 6 months and when I went to a buffet and eat fried everything, my body couldn't handle the sudden change in diet and I cramped up horribly.

Amy....I think we were just rushing it cause he wanted it so badly and finely felt up to trying (he hadn't even wanted to think pizza for 6 weeks!). This pizza wasn't like Dominoes and really greasy so we thought it might not be too bad. I think it was more of the wheat from the crust that probably did him in more than anything else.
How is your job situation? Is it getting better? Are the kids liking their school and making friends?

Good morning! It's a cloudy day here today, but it's not too cold. It's already 45 degrees and it's only 6:40. I have 4 dck's all day today. A 7 week old, a 14 month old and two 2 year olds. Should be a busy day!!! It will be wonderful to have a three day weekend after this! They are all good kids so hopefully the day goes smooth. I'm also babysitting tonight from 5-10. I'm watching a friend's 2 boys. They are a bit wild at times, but if I wanted to I could stay outside until they pick them up at 10 because it will still be light out! Would that be wrong?

Hope everyone has a great day.

Ann- sorry to hear about ds and the pizza.

I put in my notice at work! :D On Tuesday, I had a talk with the Office Manager and we realized that we were both mistaken as to what we thought my job was! Once we realized this, we went to the doctors and I said that there must have been a miscommunication as to what was expected of me and that I felt my past dental history wouldn't be enough to handle this job in a calm way. I said it is too much pressure to take in the core job, the constantly changing variables (patients, questions, the way the doctor's like to do business differently and etc) and then be left alone for the afternoon to fend for myself. The male doctor wants me to stay and was thinking of creating a job for me, but the female doctor told him they aren't busy enough to hire an extra person. The female dentist indirectly accused me of having another dental job! She said, the job won't get any easier if I go to some other office. I said-I would seriously have to get myself examined if I took on another dental job anytime soon. I left my resignation open ended, to give them time to find an appropriate replacement. Ever since then, the female doctor has been nice to me! ROFLMAO! Dh on the other hand is being offered pre-apprenticeship for the plumber's union and has been making good money with his brother installing kitchens. I'm going to take a break and then find a flexible job.

Way to go Amy! I hope that this all works out for the best. I'm sure you'll be much happier in a different work enviornment. Good luck to dh with his pre-apprenticeship. Isn't that what he'd been wanting?

AnnW - I would be the paranoid one!!! LOLOL. I should hope that ds gets better soon. Health issues sometimes take more time than we want them too !!!

It is a beautiful day here. I have all ready hit the grocery store and got a watermelon for the weekend. YUMMMY Delicious!!!

I am joining my dd for lunch. I am thinking of picking up one of the yogourt treats from McDonald's as a surprise for her.

I have some housecleaning and have all ready stripped the bedding on one bed.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Not a bad day here, some sun, but mostly cloud, but it's warm enough I guess...still had to wear my jacket when I walked downtown this a.m. to apply for employment insurance. Just going to do some groceries if I feel like it, and bottle our wine this afternoon. Not much else on.

Ann, hope your ds is able to eat more foods soon, I can imagine his impatience with the length of recovery.

Amy, good for you and your decision and your dh for his apprenticeship...I'm sure you'll both be happy.

Renee, your patio furniture sounds cool, we could use some ourselves, and your b-day plans for Tuesday sound fun.

Jak, like Renee said, hats off to you and other daycare providers. Enjoy your day!

Kacee, enjoy your lunch with your dd.

Wah..it looks great...we have a nice size deck but cheap plastic furniture sitting on it. I'll have to see what we can do about that, lol.

How long is the apprenticeship program? and can he accelerate through it? My brother finished the sheet metal program. Not sure of the exact title but where he lives the sheet metal union is affiliated with the plumbers union. He was able to go through the on the job part more rapidly, effectively shortening the apprenticship time.
DH had been pre-accepted for the electrician's union. He still had to go through the interview when he decided not to persue it, but since he was friend's with the head guy, he was a shoo in. He wouldn't have been able to accelerate through because of the classroom system that they used.

One thing everyone said is that the wages were lousy for the first couple of years. Add onto that, you needed to take out a huge number of dollars for union dues, ect. Nice pay at the end though!! Great bennies too! Good luck to both of you!

I'm getting set to head out for camping at the family ranch.

I started out my day with only 3 day care kids this morning... all from one family. All they were doing was fighting/arguing (they don't get along) so I called another one of my day care parents to see if his little girl wanted to come over to play "for a while." She was only here for about an hour and a half when the mom of the 3 came back and picked them up. It was at this time that she tole me that she had taken the day off and wasn't working... Had I known that... I just would have taken the whole day off. 8o Anyway... they leave and then I've only got the one that I wouldn't have had if I hadn't called the dad to see if she wanted come over... Ugh!!!!!! Anyway, seeing it was lunch time we went to McDonalds, and we found/stopped at a new park on the way home and played there for almost 2 hours. By the time we got home it was 2:00. I was thinking that her dad would come back early to pick her up... but unfortunately he didn't come back until her regular pick up time of 4:30... so it ended up being a long/full day for me anyway. Let's just say that the next time a holiday comes along I'm going to ask each/every parent way ahead of time who's working and who's not... and if the majority of them is not, I'm not either. LOL Sorry for venting but........ ugh!!! LOL

I didn't get a whole lot accomplished today, but I didn't have a lot of kids here to mess anything up either, so there wasn't a whole lot of cleaning up to do today. Got the front flower beds weeded but still have tons of flowers left to plant. Home Depot had some real nice hanging baskets on Sale for $4.99. I couldn't believe how nice/full they were. I'll probably be going down for some more tomorrow some time. I've got 16 hooks in the back yard for hanging baskets... so if I can find them this cheap I'll get by pretty good this year. The only other ones I've found are at least $12.99, which is pretty steep when you consider how many I need. LOL

The girls have been bugging us to open the pool... so I think we'll be trying to get that opened up some time this weekend... just not exactly too sure which day. Right now with the cover on it, it looks like a swamp... yuck!!! Not much to look at... that's for sure.

Anyway......... I'm glad this work day is all done/over with. Can't wait to sleep in a little later tomorrow. We'll still be getting up a little earlier than we want to... we've got to meet my mom and my sister at Perkins for brunch, and then off to Fort Snelling Cemetary to put some flowers on my dad's stone. :( After that dh and I will probably be busy for the rest of the day getting the yard ready for dd's Open House... Always something!

I hope you all had a good day today and even a better one tomorrow. I love these 3 day weekends. :)

Renee... nice patio furniture. We still have to find something before dd's Open House. Also... thanks for your compliment about dc providers. Unfortunately, we don't hear them too often and appreciate it when we do :)

Ann... sorry to hear that your ds's stomach didn't like the pizza. It's gotta be hard not quite knowing what's going to work and what's not.

Amy/Co... sorry that the job didn't work out for you. Enjoy your break and good luck finding something more flexable... Congrat's to your dh on his pre-apprenticeship for the plumber's union... it sounds promising.

Karla... I hope you enjoyed your lunch with your dd.
