We are having the same problem here with ds1 (he is 9 yrs.). He's struggling to get hits this year in his Little League games...and he's getting discouraged. It's harder this year because he moved up a level and it's "kid pitch". Those balls come in fast!! I think he's kind of "psyched himself out"...and isn't confident about hitting anymore :( It's hard to watch...and we're very encouraging with him. We are also taking him to batting cages...which is a blast, by the way!!! He has fun there...and hits a few...(ds2, dh and I also take turns...which is a riot!). Ds knows that we believe that being part of a team is both offensive and defensive...and he's doing his best. He knows that we're proud of his effort, and that he doesn't give up.

Dh took dks to a movie this morning - they offer $1 kid movies on Tuesday mornings throughout the summer. I had a dentist app't - had to get old fillings replaced. I HATE having a numb mouth. Going to exercise as soon as I get off of here - the dentist said that would help...the faster my metabolism the quicker it wears off. I learned something new today. LOL! My sister, 2 of her dks and my sil are coming over this afternoon and spending the night. My sis, sil and I are going to the Def Leppard concert tonight - this will wrap up my summer groupie tour. ;) I
It's going to be another warm day today, which is so nice after all this cool cloudy stuff we've had.
Just finished decorating dd's cake - she turns 17 today, and it's the last day of classes for her just has 2 exams end of the week.
Youngest has her graduation and awards day on Friday then field trip next wednesday and then she will be done too.
Ds is heading off to look at apts. today as he will be moving away and going to school in Sept.(don't know how I will handle that he has been such good company this year).
No other plans for today other than I have an appointment for my complete today(not something I look forward to)
Enjoy your day all

I am so Jealous....I love Def Leppard.....ENJOY!
Ds1 had summer school this morning, he is doing very well! He started out at level 8 two weeks ago and is now at level 10. The teacher said that he is the fastest reader in her class and she is pleased at his progress. Me too! :)
The doctor's referral office called to ask questions before they scheduled ds1's appt. for the CT scan. He has to fast because apparently they're going to use the dye for contrast as well as just a regular scan. That means another "poke" for ds. :\ Hopefully they'll make the appointment for this week.
I am typing up my grandmother's autobiography notes to send out to family. She never really completed it, but there are a lot of good memories to pass on. I should finish that today.
Hope everyone has a great day!

The funny thing with ds is, he's been playing ball since he was 4 and he's now 12. For four years he played on a select tournament team. I don't understand where this is coming from. He's not even swinging anymore, just keeps steping back from the plate when the ball's pitched. I told ds he shouldn't give up either and that I'd rather see him strike out swinging than watching the balls go by. I really don't think he's enjoying ball this year either. All his friends have moved to a rep team or onto soccer and he didn't even want to try out for select this year. I hope your son gets some hits soon!
