I fell. Actually, the ankle that I sprained (after my car accident in November)twisted and I fell to the ground. Guess where I landed 8o ...on my hand!!! I waited a couple of days to see if the discomfort went away (the added pain I mean), but it didn't. On Thursday, I spent 2 1/2 hours in the emergency room :nervous: . The doctor told me that I sprained my ankle again :bigcry:, and he thinks that I may have fractured a very small bone in my hand called the scafoid bone. He told me that because it is so tiny, it doesn't usually show up in the x-rays for 2 weeks after the accident. He was very nice and did the x-rays just to see...but nothing showed up. He told me that he could cast my arm for 2 weeks and we could recheck it then....or he saw my splint that I wear for work purposes only , and told me that if I wear it day and night for 2 weeks, that would be good enough because it totally immobilizes my wrist. I of course, opted just to use my splint so I could still shower. Can you believe it? :bawling: My doctor has also just booked my appointment with the Orthopaedic doctor May 10. This is such an inconvenience because I am right handed and it is my right hand.
