Good for you...I wish I could stay motivated. I did loose 2 lbs that first week I dieted....but I haven't reallly done too much exercising yet. I think I may try to get into a routine at night since it's cooler at night.
Congrats!!! I have gotten so off track with the kids being home and sleeping late.
me too Ann...then with not working partime anymore, and both kids under foot....I just stopped completely....so today is the first day of the rest of my life.....;) so they say....every day is a new start?
just have to remind myself...I can take the time....

I'm still doing Tae-Bo a couple times a week plus running/walking a couple of days a week.

No time at all to exercise during the summer (unless I do it on the weekend).
My day is usually a 12 hour day at camp...when I get home I'm exhausted. Do lots of walking throughout the day at camp, so I guess I am exercising...wow that made me feel better :newwink:
Good for you, ladies! It started getting too hot to walk outside here (triple digits), so just three weeks ago I bought a three month pass at the local rec. center (it's kind of like a YMCA). I go five days a week, and on my "rest" days I try to at least do something light around home, like a leisurely walk or take the kids for a hike or swim at the lake. At first I started out just doing 30 minutes on the cardio machines, and 15 on the strength training equipment, but now I've lengthened my workouts to 1 1/2 hours-- 40-50 minutes on cardio, and the rest on strength training. And I've been rotating the equipment I use each day, so I don't always do the same thing every time. I even try to find a machine I haven't tried yet, and do a little on it! And that's in addition to my eight hours of physical labor as a janitor.
Sometimes I think I see improvement, and other times I look in the mirror and see that I am sooo fat still, and I get discouraged. I wonder if maybe all mirrors do not give the same reflection? I still have some jiggly places, but even they are not very jiggly. I know I am at least burning the calories I consume, because my weight stays pretty steady. It would just be nice if I could lose. People are surprised when they find out how much I weigh, and suggest that I must have a lot of muscle. I probably do, but there has got to be something wrong with weighing as much as an average man. I've been at this for three weeks, though, so I'm expecting to see some noticeable improvement in at least my figure, even if I don't lose any pounds, by this time next month.

Good job Renee. You should be proud of yourself. I understand how you feel. I am proud of my effort too. I have been pretty consistent in my exercise program since Nov. There is just something about stepping on the scale at the ob/gyn to get a reality check. I have lost fifteen pounds and lowered my body fat. I can't wait for him to see me this time. Keep it up!!! I am impressed you can stay on the elliptical trainer that long. I find with cardio I get bored so quickly. I know I need to extend my time there but I tend to enjoy lifting weights more than cardio.
