Room decorating?

Diane's post got me to thinking. How do ya'll go about decorating your house? Do ya'll do it one room at a time, or do you mix and match?

Since we have moved in, I have been trying to do a little bit in several rooms at a time. For example, I buy curtains for every room when I buy curtains or all the throw pillows at the same time, but it seems to be dragging, so I have decided to start with the kitchen, (since that is the first room people see when they come to my house) and totally finish that room before I move on. This still might take forever, but I am hoping that once I start getting paid, it will speed up.

Anyway, how do ya'll do it?

It depends, I generally pick a room or two and then finish it before I move on. If I am out and see something for another room that would work, I will pick it up.

i'm helping my sister decorate her house (as hard as that is with her living in CA and me in CT) but we started by deciding on a color scheme for each of the rooms.

After that, we're going to work on curtains for each room and then accessories...and all that fun stuff...

Room by room - that way you have some feeling of accomplishment.

When we first moved into our house the first thing we did was to redo the upstairs bathroom. I can't tell you how much I hated that room... It had this ugly fuzzy old wallpaper on it. It looked and felt like there were some kind of tiny little critters growing all over it. 8o It was this awful swamp green color... ugh!!! I don't think I'll ever forget it! 8o From there we've just kind of moved from one room to another... whichever one we felt needed it the most at the time. Each/every room in our house has been redone... but some of them were done so many years ago (like our bedroom) that were having to start doing them all over again. Besides having the swimming pool installed by professionals... we've done all of the work by ourselves. I really enjoy making changes though, and like Ann... when/if I see something that I feel will fit into one of my rooms... I'll get it. I love making any kind of changes... even the slightest ones.
