I was hard for me to get out of bed this morning too. It's been raining for 3 days now and... enough is enough! LOL This gloomy weather just makes me feel like staying in bed all day and sleeping... but I know I wouldn't even if I could. :) Both Saturday and Sunday I was awake and up by 6:30... Ugh!!! Monday rolls around and I feel like I could sleep half of the morning... and I can't. LOL :)
I'm up for my day care relicensing tomorrow... and my social worker is scheduled to come out in the afternoon during my quiet time. Ugh!!! She "tries" to be so intimidating and I think she gets a little put out when were not intimidated by her. LOL I don't like to play her stupid games and would really appreciate it if she would just come in and do what's necessary and leave... :) Let's just say that I'll be VERY happy when it's done and over with, for another year at least.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great Monday.. Now it looks like the sun is trying to come out... :yippee: Now that would be nice... :)
Ann... what is a "neighborhood women's club?" What all do you do/is it about? Just curious... :)
Bye...
Gosh, we do all sorts of things, we have a babysitting co-op, fruit/veggie co-op, book club, bunco, adult parties (they Games and Grub party), happy hour at the pool in the summer, holiday home tour and brunch, and we have night meetings once a quarter...one was a wine tasting, we have had a version of the "antigues road show", and tonite is getting ready for summer. A local bookstore owner is coming to talk about summer reading, have a landscape guy coming and then this lady who makes these really neat gift baskets.
It's open to all the ladies of our subdivision and costs a whopping $5 per year to join.

We've had rain most of the weekend and then wake up this morning to SNOW!! YUCK!! Luckily it was pretty light. The sun is out and it should be gone by noon. Supposed to be up in the 80's by Saturday.
Dd #2 gets to go with Dd #1 to visit preschool this afternoon. She's so excited!(Actually they both are) Ds gets to hang out with Dad(dh) for the afternoon.
My research paper just needs proof reading and to be printed off.
House is a complete disaster so that's my next big job.
Ann, hope you don't get any severe weather that way.
Diane, hope your lisencing goes well.
Have a good day all!! :)

Gosh... I wish I lived in a neighborhood like yours! LOL We very seldom ever see ANY of our neighbor's. You'd think that once it got nice outside again they'd start coming outside. LOL All they seem to do is sit in the house and watch TV. (???) I'd love to get to know them well enough to be able to get together like you do. Last year I was thinking about having a "block party" but never got around to getting it put together. Maybe this year! :) Have fun at your meeting tonight. :)

MM! Sorry to hear ya'll are having bad weather. Looks great here today, a nice breeze blowing away. :-)
HH is putting a new roof on one of the chicken coops today and naturally the masons are still here !!!!! They're finishing the parging in the schoolroom today and finishing up the new window in the kitchen. Then there will be no more cement here WOOHOO.
I have to bath the dogs today they have been enjoying the mud a little too much. Sofie/Trixie seems to get along with both dogs. It's a question of the other dogs getting along with her. Max the german shepard ,couldn't be happier to have a new toy. Cookie the other ESS, isn't too happy and avoids the puppy at all costs.
The women's club sounds like fun. We don't "see" our neighbors here too much either and I'm not complaining.lol They're all curious about us, sometimes being just a little too nosey.
Have a great day ! ßß!

I'm going to watch a rerun of Pretender I have on tape. Then I'm going for a walk in the rain to the grocery store to buy a TaB and get change to do laundry. Then I changing the kids sheets and doing a load of laundry.
Ok.. that's the plan and nothing else...REALLY. It's only going to work for I can get one of my nieghbors to take the kids to school because if I take them, one of the PTA ladies will catch me and then the whole day is shot! 8o
Have you ever just felt lazy?

The weather here today is really WIERD!!! One minute it's raining/thundering and ten minutes later the sun is shining... then it's raining/thundering again... I guess it just can't decide what it wants to do! LOL
Arianna... it sounds like the school room is coming along well. Any idea when it's going to be done? I'm sure you'll be more than happy when it's completed!
I'm glad the dog's are getting along well. Yesterday a well meaning friend, thinking she was "helping" me out with the loss of my cat, tried bringing me a tiny little kitten. It was SOOO cute and VERY tempting... but I thought better of it and turned it down. I think the kids were a little disappointed but I'm just not ready to commit myself to another 10 to 12 years on a new cat. LOL

Do it!! One of our neighbors just moved into the next neighborhood and had a block party, the neighbors were all so excited and had just been waiting for someone to do it!
My folks have started having block parties in their neighborhood and everyone was so excited there too.
It was up into the 90's all last week with me half dead of the heat (wimpy, I know!) so dh turned on the swamp cooler Saturday. That means the heater is off and shut down for the season. So this morning I wake up to 57 degrees IN THE HOUSE. :frosty:
Have what I call a Harvey Wallbanger of a headache :banghead: and sincerely wish that I could dig a hole deep enough to bury myself in. :bigcry:
Can ya tell I just printed out the Smilies list??? Took me long enough!

I am having a dragging kind of Monday too. I think it has to do w/the fact that I finally fell asleep about 11:30pm and woke up to Zach vomiting all over my carpet at 12:30am. Kind of squelched sleeping for me the rest of the nite. He got sick about 4 more times but hasn't since 7:15am. I am hoping whatever bug he had has run its course. Now I am cleaning carpet, disinfecting our waterbed etc. All kinds of fun stuff!
We had a major snow yesterday. We are blanketed w/about 4inches of wet heavy snow. Jay is out riding his 4 wheeler in it. It worked out well-since today is a professional dev. day for teachers and the kids didn't have school. Guess I better try to get motivated!!

8o... hope your ds wakes up feeling much better! Poor little guy must have gotten some of that stomach flu that's been going around! Hope the rest of you don't get it now too! :(
Bummer about the snow... I couldn't even IMAGINE getting anymore snow. I certainly wouldln't be very happy if we did anyway! LOL All of my bulbs are starting to come up and it's actually starting to look/feel like spring... finally! I only wish the weather would decide what it's going to do. LOL
bye...
Hope your little one feels better and no one else gets it, Beth!!!
Hi all.
I also had a long night. Dd had a nightmare and woke up screaming. Ds woke up then too and the dog was doing the whiney dance until I let him out. I wake up this morning to a trail of yellow dog diarreha. The poor thing! I thought he just wanted to go out because he saw another dog outside. Also a mental note to myself, no more coffee after 3pm. My brain was going a million miles a minute.
Beth-we got the snow too, but thankfully it didn't stick. Did you have the extreme high winds too? My dd was sick this weekend too. Must be something with this crazy weather we are having. Hope yours is feeling better!
I need to get outside and go for a walk. Have a good day everyone and good luck on your licensing Diane!

Oh... poor dog! I've kept the dog in too thinking that she only wanted outside to goof around or something.. She usually gets a treat whenever she comes back in from being outside... so sometimes she'll pretend to need to go out just to get the treat when she comes back in. LOL It isn't until later... after she's left me a present at the front door, that I realize that she REALLY needed to go... Ugh!
I know what you mean about the coffee... I drink it all day long and probably shouldn't... and when I run out of that I start on my pop. LOL Hope your day get's better! :)

Hi all! Just a normal Monday around here. Work....errands after work.....home to make supper and shift loads of laundry around.....homework with the kids and some puter time!
The weather has turned beautiful here...supposed to be +18C on Thursday :yippee:
Time to get kids ready for bed, so talk to you all later.
:)
My Monday started with thunderstorms and my little "chicken" dog doing a number on me with all the panting, shaking, and whimpering. Ds was so upset and didn't want to leave her home alone. so I took her to school with me. She was so good and of course the kids loved it. I, however, had forgotten that I was supposed to go to a special services preschool with the speech therapist to observe a child with autism that is supposed to be placed in my classroom next year. The weather had cleared by noon when we left so I made a little detour to take my dog back home. I don't think the sub would have appreciated taking care of her and I didn't want to leave her in the car.
Now the weather is perfect. Temps 65 to 70 low humidity and lots of sunshine for the rest of the week. I want to get in my flower beds so bad.

Ann - Your neighborhood sounds GREAT!!! We get together with a few of ours around Christmas and we always have so much fun.
Diane - ITA about the weather! LOL! It looks like we're supposed to have a nice wknd! :yippee:
Kristina Y - Welcome! You'll find lots of new buddies here! :)
Amy/CO- I know what you mean about cutting back on caffeine- I'm bad with Mountain Dew - sometimes it has me :bounce: all night!!
Beth C and Linda/NE - I can't imagine getting SNOW at this point! Ugh! Hope it melts soon. And, Beth - hope Zach is feeling better soon.
Did I forget anyone? :( I didn't mean to if I did. It is taking me forever to get caught up here tonight. I hate not being able to be on here during the day. We showed our house 4 times today - keep your fingers crossed for us. It is such a rollercoaster!!!!

I talked with one of the other neighbor's this moring and brought up the idea of a neighborhood picnic and she thought it was a GREAT idea... so, she's going to help me put it all together! I'm really very excited about it. We've recently gotten a lot of new people in the neighborhood so I think it would be a great time to introduce outselves and get to know them all a little better. One question though... She brought up the fact that their are a "few" neighbor's that nobody likes/cares for and... do you think we should have to invite them too? How do you NOT invite somebody? I had never thought of that before but it might be a problem... What do you think???
Diane...
Great news!! Should be tons of fun.
Our first block party we were so surprised cause Mr Grumpy came and was lots of fun and Mr & Mrs Reclusive came and at least spoke! LOL (see, we have some odd ones on our street too)
They stopped coming to alot of our functions.
I bet you will find that not everyone comes, but you can't NOT invite the ones you don't want if you are truly having a block party. They may just surprise you.
Just have the kids pass out a flier advertising the time/date/what to bring and see what happens. You might want to have a theme, that seems to help break the ice.
One year everyone had to decorate their table that they were bringing.

Yep not inviting them wouldn't be good. Have fun!!!!
When are you going to do it?
