I was going great guns for a while there, eating smaller portions, working out at least 4 times a week...then BANG....I just stopped working out....and my portion control well, that's ok....not gaining weight....but I just can't seem to stay motivated.....HELP...what motivates you?

ADRENALINE!!!! Woohoo! What a rush! When I get done with an awesome workout, I feel GOOOOD! Perhaps the second part of that might be the psychological high when I discover I DID IT! :D

But then today I got yet one more motivator: a couple of days ago I looked in the mirror and said to myself, "Why do I look so fat in these pants?" Then today I took another look in said pants and realized I'm not fat in the pants, the pants are fat on me! They were baggy as all heck, and falling down, lol! Woohoo! I feel good! What a high!

Hang in there, girlfriend, don't give up! And BTW, even though my pants are falling down, the numbers on the scale aren't-- I haven't lost a single pound-- but I'm seeing results anyway. :) And so is dh

Renee, I got to thinking about this again recently, but kept forgetting to post it. I realized one more motivator for me: the company I work for is a sponsor of this area's annual marathon. They have a framed portrait or painting up for each year (20 years worth). Anyway, some of them are of the scenic marathon route, and some are of the athletes themselves. There is one in particular that I see everyday of this beautfiul young woman-- she is lean and muscular, but not one of those anorexic supermodel type bodies. Everytime I see that portrait, I feel this burning desire to achieve that level of fitness/physique for myself. I want it so badly I can taste it! And that is one of the things that keeps me going. :)

Me, I realize that if I want to be a nurse I have to be physically fit because it's such a demanding job. I have gained some weight this summer so I'm going back to weight watchers next week.
