? about taxes

Diane (or anyone else who might know)- when you claim your mileage and you are buying things for your family and for your daycare, do you only claim half that miles or all of them?

For example, when I go to the grocery store, it's 6 miles round trip. If I buy things for the daycare and my family do I write off the whole 6 miles or just 3 of them?

I'm having a REALLY hard time finding out the answer to this question. No one around here seems to know the answer as I have heard that both of them are correct. I know that there has to be only one correct way to do it.

Our accountant told us that we can deduct mileage for going to get groceries and such. She never said anything about adjusting it any if we get personal stuff at the same time.
Check with an accountant maybe.
