I was just posting to a banana bread recipe question and got to thinking what is your easiest recipe ....It usually is banana bread, because I can make it quick and I always seem to have a black banana or two lying around  I just posted it, so I'll post my other favorite Goulash with and with out meat....you want to post your favorite/easiest recipe too? I thought this would be fun and I can get some new fresh ideas.

Goulash

1 pound cookand drained pasta, any shape will work
1 pound cooked ground round (this is optional)
1 16 oz. can whole tomatoes
1 medium onion
3 Tablesspoons garlic
1 Tablespoon Italian seasonings
salt and pepper to taste

Fry hamburger until cooked, cook pasta accordinly....fry one onion and garlic in sautee pan, until transparent...mix all ingredients together, serve hot and sprinkle with Parmasam cheese or Romano.

Tip:
(dh likes this with out the meat, and the kids like the whole tomatoes cut up)

Not too different from Renee's

Poor man's Stroganoff

1 - 1 1/2 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup (can use the low fat kind)
1 can mushrooms (optional)
Noodles or Rotelle pasta, cooked and drained

Mix all ingredients together, add milk if too thick. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve.

3-4 chicken breasts, raw, cubed
3-4 med/large potatoes, cubed (I don't even peel them)
1 family sized can cream of chicken soup (Healthy Request works too)
1 1/2 - 2 cups baby carrots
1 can french style green beans, drained

1 can biscuits

Dump everything but the biscuits in a big bowl and mix well. Bake in a 9 x 13 pan, 400 degrees for 45 minuits or until casserole is bubbly. Quarter each biscuit and place on top of casserole, bake for an additional 10 - 15 minutes. (Quarter the biscuits before you take the casserole out of the oven. As long as you put the biscuits on the casserole while it is very hot they won't be soggy). This reheats well in the micro as leftovers.

If you want to AnnW's recipe, try adding a soup can of cooking burgundy and 1 cup sour cream to the recipe. You might need to up the amount of noodles and beef too.

My easiest is:

4 chicken breasts (bone in, take off skin)
4 carrots
4 potatoes
4 celery sticks
1 onion quartered
1 cream of mushroom soup
1 packet fench onion soup mix

tear off 4 large pieces of tin foil and place a chicken breast in the middle of each one. Season if you wish. Add chopped up vegetables to each tin foil. Mix soup and soup mix together and evenly distribute (for all four tin foil packets) on top of chicken and veggie clumps. Wrap and seal tin foil over the mixture. Place on a cookie sheet and cook for 1hour at 375 degrees. Unwrap, let cool a bit and serve. NO CLEANUP!!

Glad you liked it Renee!!!

If you add burgundy and sour cream to it Amy, then it isn't POOR man's stroganoff anymore!!!! LOL

Working Women's Lasagna
(and we're ALL working women!)

2 lbs. ground beef
10 oz. bag bow-tie noodles
32 oz. jar Prego spaghetti sauce
16 oz. container of ricotta cheese
2 c. shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

Cook ground beef.
Cook bow-tie noodles until al dente.
Add ground beef, noodles, and ricotta cheese to spaghetti sauce.
Spread half of mixture in a 9X12 baking pan.
Sprinkle half of the shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese on top.
Spread the rest of mixture on top of cheese.
Top with the rest of the shredded cheese.

Bake in a covered 9X13 pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Garlic Chicken with Penne Pasta

olive oil
2 large cloves of crushed garlic
marinated chicken breast pieces
½ stick butter
1 can of chicken broth
vegetables (any kind)
cooked penne pasta
freshly grated parmesan cheese

Sauté garlic in olive oil and a little margarine.

Add chicken and brown.

Add vegetables and cook a bit longer.

Add chicken broth, butter and parmesan cheese.

Pour over penne pasta.

Top with a little more grated parmesan cheese.

Side Dish (this also works well for a party (buffet) kept warm in a crock pot after baking):

Easy Cheesey Potatoes

1 large bag of frozen hash brown potatoes (cubed, not shredded)
1 16-oz jar of Hellman's or Best Foods Mayonnaise (DO NOT use Light or Low Fat—it doesn't work)
1 large jar of Cheez Whiz
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
Put mixture into baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Adding well-cooked bacon is optional, time permitting.
I add half a block of melted (in microwave) Philadelphia Cream Cheese.
Adding too much cheddar cheese makes it oily.

This is one meal that the whole family enjoys.....and is soooo flexible according to the # you need to feed.

3-4 chicken breasts - cubed then cooked - salt & peper to taste.

While the chicken is cooking.....cook fettucini noodles (I use a large handful for the 5 of us) in a large saucepan.
While noodles and chicken are cooking, cut up 2 handfuls of broccoli flowerettes and then add them to the boiling noodles for the last few minutes of the time needed to cook the noodles.

Add 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1/4 cup parmesean (sp?) cheese and 1/2 - 3/4 can of milk to the cooked chicken to make a sauce.
Drain the noodles/broccoli and then toss it in with the chicken and sauce.
Voila....supper in about 20 minutes.

If after you add the noodles to the chicken/sauce it looks to dry, just add more milk/cheese to make it look right.

I sure hope that makes sense.....I just make it now and hardly think about what I am doing! LOL

I've actually posted this here before, but it is one of our fav's and so simple!

~Creamy Italian Chicken~

4 boneless chicken breast halves
Italian dressing
1/2 cup water
1 pkg. 8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 can 4 oz mushroom stems and pieces, drained

Place chicken in bottom of crockpot. Pour Ital dressing over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended. Stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Cook one hour longer, or until chicken juices run clear. Serve over rice or pasta. We use fettucini noodles and last time I made this I doubled it so we would have more leftovers! :licklips:

Actually... I like Pam's idea. Ordering out sounds like the easiest plan to me. LOL

Actually, I haven't got anything GREAT to post but if you're into sloppy joe's... here's a very simple/easy recipe.

One pound of Hamburger
One can of Tomato Soup
1/4 Cup of Ketchup
Enough onion to taste (optional)

Brown the hamburger/onions...
Add the tomato soup/ketchup and... your done.

I usually make this when I'm in a real big hurry and don't have time to make anything else. It's pretty good... If my dh takes 2nd or 3rd helpings... it's got to be good. LOL

Everybodies recipies sound really good... I think I've gained about 5 pounds just reading them... Yummy!!! I'm going to print out a copy of these and try them. I'm really getting bored with everything that I've been making for supper and I'm sure my family will appreciate having something new/different on the table. LOL Thanks for all of the great recipes!

Works for me Ryleigh!!! LOL

One of the best mother's day gifts I ever got was a cookbook that my kids did when they were in PreK...it was so cute reading all the kids' recipes! Things like "take the meat out of the fridge, put in in the pan, put it in the oven, turn on the oven to 1000 degrees and cook for 4 hours, slice it and put ketchup on it" LOL

The kindergarten teacher at the daycare where I work did that for one of her special projects. It was cute to see the way the children thought that things were cooked.

you are so very welcome!!! it really was just precious!
the teacher asked each child what was their mommy's favorite food and how do you fix it....and then let them dictate away! She wrote each "recipe" on a 4x6 index card, two hole punched it at the top and bound it with a ribbon...I still have both of mine!!!

Hi...here's one of my easiest recipes...

1 lb of smoked or polish sausage
2 boxes instant au gratin potatoes

Cut sausage into pieces. I usually do bite sized but will skip that if I'm in a hurry and just do larger pieces.
Follow directions on box for oven prep of potatoes, stirring sausage in right before you put it in oven.

Usually takes 30 mins or so to cook. Enough time to get the table set, some dishes done and a load of laundry on, LOL. I cook a veggie and some beans to go with it.

4 chicken breasts
2 boxes chicken and broccoli Rice a Roni
2 handfuls frozen broccoli florets
3 slices American cheese

Mix all ingredients for rice, put in casserole dish (with cover). Add broccoli, then top with chicken. PUsh down a bit so the seasoning for the rice covers the chicken a bit. Cover and bake 30 mins, uncover and bake 15, at 350 degrees. Add cheese when you take it out of the oven. This is the ONLY way my kids will eat either rice OR broccoli, LOL.

Now that I have figured out an effective way to keep up with the posts. RCT I just saw your post from April on this LOL. I am a soup Junkie so...

Zesty Beef and Vege Soup

1 pound ground beef (ground chicken works too)
1/2 cup chopped onion (i go a little less)
2 cloves garlic (i use 1/4 t powder/clove instead)

Brown the ground beef with the garlic and onion. (I usually have it already cooked and pull it from the freezer)

2 cups preshredded coleslaw mix (i thinly slice cabbage and grate carrots)

10 oz frozen corn (whole kernels)
9 oz frozen green beans
(more or less of each really doesn't matter)

4 cups hotstyle V-8 (i use half spicy, half generic mild)
1 can italian-style stewed tomatoes (i use plain)
2 T worcestershire sauce
1 t dried basil (crushed)
1/4 t black pepper
1/2 t oregano or ital seasoning (doesn't call for it but I use it to compensate for the ital tomatoes)

Throw it all in a crock pot cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours

I typically double the recipe and just throw it in a stock pot on the stove for a while until all is tender and the stock has that clingly homogeneous look to it. I freeze 1/2 of it so the second time around its REAL quick.
