Emotionally disturbed????

my son was classified as being emotionally disturbed last school year. How can i challenge this as an error ?

I'm a married mom with 2 kids in elementary school. My daughter went to the school counselor every week though the 2nd grade and while I thought it was necessary and really improved her performance in school, I often wonder what will appear on her "permanent record". Am I being paranoid?

You have a really interesting question. I'm not an educator, but several people on this board are and I look forward to hearing their suggestions. I've been posting here for 5 years and I usually get excellent advice. This board is usually much more active. I expect it will pick up soon. We hope to hear more from you.

How old is your ds? What is the reason for this diagnosis? Did they specify? Is he fire starting? Killing small animals? Lacking in the conscience department? Can you fill us in with some more details?

Also...does he behave the same everywhere or is his behaviour different at school versus home?
