is at 1:00... would you serve a lite lunch or would you just serve cake/coffee? (nuts, mints) If so... any great (quick and easy) idea's about what we could serve? TIA!!!

This is just my opinion, but since your dd's are throwing it and you should be/want to be more of a guest youself, I'd go with light fingerfoods.
Chances are, guests have eaten prior to 1:00 - but you can have great finger foods like the mini quiches, pretty desserts, etc. A lot of it isn't so much WHAT you have, but how you present it.... plain cut up fruit can look so much more exciting if you put it out in something other than just a bowl....
Sam's/Costco have great things you buy pre-made and just warm 'em up and set 'em out.
Does your room have kitchen access of any kind? That would make a big difference.

I am with littlesista on serving hors dourves (did I spell that right?). Just make them quick and easy. Sam's has a great sandwich ring, meat/cheese deli tray, veggie tray and you wouldn't need an oven for that.

I would do light finger foods too, veggies and dips, fruit plates, nuts, maybe some cheese and crackers type of thing, pretty cookies, you could even have a plate or two of party sandwiches for those who didn't bother with lunch first. Less clean up and mess too.

I agree with the other gals. Sam's also has some mini cream puff and eclairs - yum! And, cheesecake bites. They could go along with the baby theme - 'baby' cream puffs, eclairs and cheesecakes. :tinysmile

I agree with the others. Karla's baby theme is a cool idea. I love baby cream puffs :D

I agree with the others...but I would make sure I have enough of something with substance...maybe a small hero...just in cace some people think It's going to be a lunch....That is unless you maybe state on invitations that "Finger foods will be served".

If it was at like 2 or 3 o'clock I don't think it would matter. But better safe then sorry. I rather have the left overs...LOL.
