How many people are interested in doing it again this year? Has anyone heard from Arianna? If Arianna doesn't want to do it this year (or anyone else) let me know, and I will do it.

I would love to be able to... it was so much fun last year. With everything going on with dd and the baby this year... I'm not too sure how much time I'm going to have to work on it, so I might have to skip it this year. :bawling: If anything changes... I'll let you know.

I'm IN!! I found something that is pretty simple/easy... so that's what I decided to do. I think I've got about two weeks to work on them before the baby comes... so I'm going to start on them right away. Join in... it's really a lot of fun!!!

I'm afraid I'm going to bow out this year too. It's almost too late to get going with it. Heck I can't even find the ornaments I bought on vacation for our grade level exchange. I may have to go out and buy more, but I sure hope not cause the ones I got were so cute.

Hi, I don't want to sound rude, but this involves giving out our personal mailing addresses, and those of us who have done for the past few years have been on this message board for a long time.

Stick around here at IB and post and get to know us and then next year you would be able to exchange.

This is what my concern was. I'm not too big on handing my personal mailing address out and would just as soon not mail it to anyone who hasn't been here for a while and I can feel comfortable with. I too don't want to sound rude... but you do have to be careful. There is always next year... and I'll definitely still be here to do it. :)

So few? 8o 8o 8o 8o Last year I think we had about 18 or 20 people in on the exchange. It was really a lot of fun getting the mail each and every day to see what I got from whoever... :) :) :) I hope more of you consider joining us!!! :)

I know the ladies on my site are doing a COOKIE CUTTER exchange, and they had fun with it... :D I saw one of the pics from one of the ladies and it was really cute the way she used 6 cutters and made a cute little wreath out of it.

:wave: Hi, I am new here and was reading this and just thought I would offer a suggestion since so many aren't partaking of the fun because they are worried about giving out their mailing address.

Another board I go to does it this way. One long term trusted member collects all the addresses and everyone sends the item to that person and that person sends it on to where it needs to be. In this way no one's feelings are hurt and everyone gets to share in the fun. The person in charge could even set up a PO box for it if they would prefer. Things do need to be mailed a little earlier since they need to be remailed to allow time for them to get where they are going.

Another thought...if everyone isn't invited to join in, perhaps instead of being posted publicly it should have been between select members by email or personal message.

I hope I am not stepping on any toes since I am a newbie but I didn't want to see hurt feelings, this looks like a great board. :)

We don't have private messaging on this board set up yet, and we do not have everyone's e-mail addresses, so that wouldn't work either.

The people aren't worried about giving their addresses to people whom have been here a long time. They are worried about giving them to people who stop by and post one time and never post again, or people who haven't been here long enough for us to know.

I can see how the idea would work to send it to one person, but that would be paying double shipping, and could get expensive, so could opening a PO box just for this ornament exchange.

You are not stepping on anyones toes, and no feelings were meant to get hurt, but this is a place where some have been posting for years and years. We love for newbies to join us, but we also like to be able to get to know them before we get too personal with them. The person that asked to join in has not posted again since she or he asked to join, and that is what we were trying to avoid.

I don't know if I'd have the time to do it this year...Is anything set up yet as far as a date? About how many people seem to want to do it? Last year got so big I don't think I could get that many done this late in the month.
