Howdy,
I am finally caught up at work and will try to sneak a couple of posts in.
I was really impressed With Kat's post about her Bible Bowl. I know that she has spent many hours of work.
So I was wondering.. OK Nosy.. What do you do when you are not at the Box??? Most of you know that I work at DD's school in the library part time. My other full time activity is that I am President of our children's organization at Church. I have also just started piano lessons...LOLOL, I try to spend 1/2 hour to hour a day on that. Next if there is any time left I love to read. Currently I am reading Zion Covenant. It is an awesome series about the Jews during WW2.
I am also impressed with Diane P. How do you do Day Care and still be in the top ten here? I know you must be highly organized.
Well, Anyone else care to share????
I am the typical housewife/mother, only I ride a lawn tractor...LOL.. spend alot of time doing household stuff.... cooking, cleaning, and trying to make our house somewhere my kids and I want to be....
I love the spring/summer/fall months for I am outside with my kids enjoying nature and gardening...we are teaching the kids about planting and weeding this year.....
DH and I enjoy music and just hanging out with the kids....I know it sounds funny, but we can sit and listen to a record and not say a word, yes we still have records, and a player.....
I love to read, but haven't had the concentration or time lately, love Fern Michaels, Mary Higgens Clark, nd of course Stephen King....
I also love to sew, but I haven't done it in so long, would love to spend time learning to quilt.
great question Kacee

Fortunately for me... my toyroom and my office are connected to each other!!! I don't have half of the kids I use to have (7 at the most)... I'm letting more and more kids go as time goes on. I AM very organized which is probably the reason why I CAN get in here whenever I can. While my kids are sitting down to play-doh playing... I run between toyroom and office to see what's been posted and maybe a quick reply and back into the toyroom. I'm BACK AND FORTH all day long. While they are coloring, painting, puzzles or building blocks... whatever (except when were outside) I'm back and forth... and continually adding to their projects... talking with and playing. LOL I honestly do spend a lot of time with my kids (probably a lot more than their parents do by the way it sounds) and I don't even think that they notice that I'm gone cause I'm usually not gone for that long. We also have music/story time... dance! If you were to see how good and well behaved my kids were... you'd understand how I could do it. My social worker was amazed at how well behaved they all were. That and, I spend WAY too much time on here in the evenings. While dh is an avid television watcher... I love my computer or I'm outside gardening, walking or rollerblading. (or talking to the neighbors... LOL) I'm also very active in my dd's cheerleading booster club. Not too much of a life but... I like it! Off to outside play! Talk later...
Diane...
Not much right now. Since my commitment with swim team ended in December, I have been very selfish with my time. I work in the library at school twice a month, but that's about the only commitment I have right now. I am enjoying being a slug for the time being! LOL
I come hear usually right after lunch and read but usually don't take the time to post, because then I would spend too much time here, not that that's a bad thing but it doesn't fit into my timetable. I have to set myself a schedule because I am very busy, but if I schedule then I can have time for the things I enjoy. Here is a sample of an ordinary day for me. Get up at 6 and decorate a cake. get myself and kids ready for school. spend 9-12 at playschool, come home for lunch, dh and dd leave at 12:30 so then I have computer time from 12-1. 1-3 is for tidying, grocery shopping and errands such as bill paying or doing outside stuff or sewing. Then its off to gymnastics usually till 8:30 and then spend time with the family till bedtime. And alot of my weekends lately have been taken up with gymnastics meets, but that will soon end. I really look forward to summer holidays!!!
hmmm... I usually take my ds for long walks, talk to family on the phone, work when I feel like it, pick dd up from school, read magazines while ds is napping, take the dog for a walk with the kids to the playground, eat, give baths and watch cartoon network with my kids right before bedtime. :D

Lately I have been cleaing and showing our house nonstop.
My "old" life lol .... lots of time spent with dks- included playing, trips to the library with them (and alone which I love), taking them to "class", reading, doing projects, etc.
When I have time to myself I love to read, check in here, do crosswords, listen to music, have mom's night out, talk on the phone... and now that it's nice we have been getting outside to play and go for walks more often which is AWESOME!! :) I am really looking forward to summer and spending time at the pool! :) Almost for got one of my favorite pasttimes - eating! LOL!

Lately it's been PTA, PTA, and more PTA.
I'm the volunteer coordinator and I just completed making a 2 page outline of my duties. The PTA is going to use the outline to divide my job among six people because I'm NOT going to be on the board next year.

I teach from 7:40 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. every day. Pick my boys up from the sitter by 3:30 p.m. We spend our afternoons playing with neighborhood kids, or playing in the house. I try not to schedule activities for afterschool because my boys LOVE to be at home!!! (I stay at school for 30-45 minutes each night to prepare for the next day...I try very hard not to bring schoolwork home. When I get home I'm just plain old MOM.) Dh works late most nights and travels often, so the boys and I are usually on our own until about 6:30/7:00 p.m. I usually check IB while the kids are playing outside (like right now!).....or sometimes after they've gone to bed. There are days I can't check in....go through withdrawal!!

I work a 5.5 hour day as a library clerk at our local high school. Then for the other 18.5 hours a day I am a full time mom/housekeeper/taxi driver/nurse/cook etc. etc. etc.
However, I quit being a slave to my house/family today, so guess I'll have more free time to myself!

My sil once quit doing her dh's laundry just to get him to wake up a little. (He was/is the most selfish person I know and I think she was at a loss as to what else to do.) Maybe if you do "quit" for a while and they see how quickly things pile up or how hard it is to just maintain the house/family on a daily basis they will have a new appreciation for all you do! Hang in there and let us know how things are going!

I'm a college student with about 24 more hours to go on my undergraduate degree. The rest of the time I take care of dh and kids. I'm in desperate need of a vacation and I'm threatening to use the frequent flyer miles and hotel points for a Las Vegas trip rather than saving for a trip to the Bahamas this summer!

I mostly sit around in my winnie the pooh jammies all day!! LOL
My nephew stays with me 3 days a week. We have playgroups, MOPS, bible study, zoo, hang out with the neighbors... Nothing really structured except for ds's soccer. I gave up working Saturday's in a real estate office last March. I just love having a family day!! I do try to have dinner ready for dh when he gets home. I am guessing my life will become more structured in the fall when ds starts school!!
You all really impress me with all you do!! Well, except for AnnW.....slacker :goofy:

ROFL!!!
jealous???? :newwink:
I leave for work at 6:45 and get home at about 4:30. (Fridays I get home at 2:30--Yahoo!!) Then I drive somewhere to pick up or drop off one or the other of my dds. Some days that driving thing is crazy. Like when they all have something in a different direction at the same time. We eat for a long time at my house. If noone has a project due or a meeting to go to, we'll sit at dinner for an hour. (And no- it's not just procrastinating on doing the dishes!) I gave up tv when I was taking classes, and never got back into it. Reading and early bed- 9:30 or so. Yawn...Written down like that, it's a pretty boring existence. Of course I come here to hear about your days, but sometimes I don't have anything to add. You all seem to be so busy!!!!

I don't know what to put about my days. I used to work, but this Wednesday will be my last day. Then I have to get stuff ready for the movers, and then get the house ready for inspection, and then get us ready to leave, and then leave, and then we are homeless and lifeless.LOL!!!We shipped our car Thursday of last week. That was a relief now when the rest of this is over I can really relax.

Well, I try to workout every morning. I lift for about 20 minutes and alternate between running for 50 minutes one day and walking for 30 minutes the other day.
I then go to work for about 8 hours at an ISP. We have a really fast connection and it is easy for me to bop on and off throughout the day. My first love is the Pacers forum, but this is now my second most visited site.
I didn't know if dw would want me here this long, but even if I wasn't here... she'd show me threads anyway I'm sure! :)
I try to do a little housework at home with laundry being my specialty. After eating the dinner prepared by dw I try to remember to do the dishes. I really do try honey! :brow:
I love to read. I juggle between Religious books, sales books, and sports biographies. My most recent book was "The Wealthy Barber" and is a great read for home finance ideas.

Thanks Leigh! I am trying to just look forward and not back as we go through this whole moving thing. If I can focus on where I'll be in a few months, then maybe I'll stay sane and get thru all of this packing! LOL! Can't wait 'til you're back where you want to be. You guys have lots ahead of you, but they are exciting times! :)
