That is so funny! Yeah, I am a big fan of the Pacers as I must support my locals. What year did he almost play? It would just be interesting to know.
I went to see them play Philly today at Conseco Fieldhouse. It was a great game, but we ended up losing. :bigcry:
Reggie Miller has had two awesome games in a row as he is "Mr. Playoff," but we just didn't have anybody else stepping up.
It is so frustrating! :banghead:
Go Pacers! Woo Hoo! :D
When they were for sale about 18-20 years ago (don't remember the exact year, sorry) a friend of ours almost bought them. His philosophy was have the core players get the "money" and just pay the rest the league minimum. He basically offered my dh a job to sit on the bench to fill the roster. DH didn't take the job cause (1) his ego was a little wounded to be considered a bench warmer (he was a pretty good college player) (2) he was 27 years old which was REALLY old! (3) he was too humilated to take the pay to do nothing.
I kept begging him to do it!! At the time, it was more $$ than he was making being a respectable banker, and I thought it would be cool to be dating a professional basketball player!! LOL
oh...our friend didn't buy the team, so the whole thing ended up being mute..but it sure was a fun couple of months!!!!
