Good morning! It's a day to celebrate in our family...today is Dad's 84th birthday! A sister of mine (who's dh's birthday is also today) is taking cake to my Dad's after dinner and we will be joining them. Dad's excited to have another birthday; can't say as I blame him, lol.

I'm freezing my patootie off here in NY. I am now the offical overseer of the fireplace. That thing is running all day to help offset the consistent running of the furnace.

I'm volunteering at ds's school today and I'm trying to motivate myself to mop the floors and vacuum the family room.

House is lonely today. Dd is back to school after bein home for 2.5 weeks (holidays, and then she was sick). It's hard getting back into a normal daily schedule after having her around for that long.

Amy, you're in NY now?

Ann, dd is in girl scouts too. We didn't get to sell any cookies last year (with exception of selling to family) cause we were both sick during the 2 weeks of selling last year, so she's really hyped about doing it this year. Those lemon coolers and double dutch chocolate chip ones look yummy.

Happy B-day to your dad, Bev.!

Ok Amy....you stumped me with that cookie question. LOL So I did a little research. Apparently, there are like 300 or so different cookie sales divisions, each deciding what cookies to sell, how much to sell them for, etc... Had NO idea that was the case.

I also found out that the cookies go by different names too. For example, Caramel delites we call samoas, peanut butter patties we call Tagalongs, classic shortbread we call Trefoils and peanut butter sandwiches we call Do-Si-Dos. LOL You can view the cookies we sell here at: http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/cookies/cookies.html

We aren't selling the pinatas. They don't sound too tasty. Did you like them?

Hi Beth!

Dh is staying in the city tonight so hopefully I'll get my night of doing nothing! Was hoping to do nothing last night but dh suddenly decided he needed his hair cut and I suddenly realized ds1 needed uniform pants for school! So I crawled in to bed at 11:30 after an hour or so of quiet time to myself. Just didn't seem to cut it, lol!

Today I vacuum, finish up laundry and clean the bathrooms. Oooooh, so thrilling!

Happy b-day, Bev's daddy!!! :bdaycake:

Bev-Happy Birthday to your Dad.

All of you selling cookies are making my mouth water...We dont get any of those here..

LOL tooooo funny! I had NO idea things were so different. Ann, I figured yours would be the same as ours since we're both in Texas. Wow, ya learn something new every day.

I've always known them by the names I listed. I can see why they would use different cookies for different areas, but that is sooo weird that they would change the name of them. It appears the only one that shares the same name is Thin Mints.

we call them thin mints, shortbread anbd etc. Did y'all have reduced fat lemon cremes?

Another odd thing--when I did a google search and typed in types of girl scout cookies-it came back with all kinds of listings with porno pics!!?? Am I missing something? I didn't know what a beaver was until I was 25-so I am clueless.?( ?( LOL

LOL Amy...I'm not surprised you came up with porn. It seems like any subject you look up these days brings up porn with it. Sad, sad world our kids live in these days.

The only low fat cookie we have is the lemon coolers. Your lemon cremes sound scrumptious tho.

All this cookie talk is makin' me hungry !

Took dh to work this morning so that I could have his truck and run a whole bunch of errands. I'll be leaving here in a few minutes. Should have my truck back by the end of next week. By then it will have been 8 week since my accident. Some time things take way too long.

Speaking of GS cookies. Ours are called the same as Beth's and I can't wait to taste the chocolate chocolate chip cookies. YUM!! We used to sell the lemon creme cookies (I think in CA or NC) and they we SO food, especially frozen. I love thin mints frozen too. What are pinatas like Amy?

It was -15 this morning when I took dh to work and it was almost 9am. We need a heat wave. If it were around 20 I think I'd be happier than I am right now!

Happy Birthday to your dad Bev (your bil too). Hope you have fun tonight.

It is freezing here too. A who whopping 15 degrees for a high today. BRRRR.

But I picked up the plane tickets for Jamaica today!!!!! We leave on the 23rd. I can't wait. My toes will finally be dethawed.

I went on Victoria Secret.com and bought a new swim suit and stuff too. I might not come home till May!!!!

We went to Jamaica many moons ago for our honeymoon. We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay. I would LOVE to go back someday. What part of Jamaica are you going to?

We are staying at the Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay.

I totally surprized DH with it for his 40th birthday(on Jan 26th). I had it all paid for with my xmas bonus, (all meals and drinks and snacks are included), I talked to his boss and got him time off, the kids are staying with friends for a few nights and my parents the other nights. So many people knew and didn't tell him. Including the kids. I told him on out anniversary, New Years Eve.

I just can't wait to go!!!!

It is freezing here again! Wish we could just stay home.

Ya'll are too funny talking about the Girl Scout cookies!
I'm sitting here eating some of the new Lemon Coolers --- yummmm!!!

We start selling next week and we have Thin Mints, DoSiDos, Samoas, etc. Haven't heard of Pinantas. Last year my fave was the Ole Ole..... yum!

I went to the podiatrist today to see what the deal is with my foot and darn if he couldn't find anything! Grrrr. He taped it and basically said I've got a very flexible foot and it's probably soft tissue damage due to an activity or lack of support to the foot. Sheesh!

Bev... :bday: to your dad and BIL... I hope they had a great day!!! :silly:

All this talk about girl scout cookies has my mouth watering. :licklips:

Still cold here but at least got above zero today. :) LOL I'm SO ready for spring. It's suppose to warm up into the 30's for the weekend... can't wait!!! (we might actually even see a few people dressed in shorts!!! :biglaugh: )

It's pretty quiet around here tonight. Dd #2 has been in her room practically all night and Dd #3 is out with her boyfriend. After some of the day's I have with the day care kids... I really have learned to appreciate the quiet times when I have it.

Anyway... I hope you all have had a great day. Friday tomorrow!! :) :) :)
