My cousin committed suicide yesterday. He was a 43 year old husband and father of three. He has been struggling with manic depression and recently went of his medications. He drove his semi-truck onto the railroad tracks and started walking towards the oncoming train. The thing that makes this especially traumatic for his wife is that her father was killed ten years ago when his semi (hauling gasoline) stalled on the tracks and he was killed in the explosion. For her husband to CHOOSE to die in a manner that was so close to that of her father, I can't even imagine what she's going through. Their youngest son is 16 and their daughters I believe are 18 and 21.
I'm not sure if the engineer suvived the accident (from what I can tell my cousin was also hauling gasoline so there would have been a terriffic explosion) but please also remember him and his family in prayer. My uncle is falling apart over all of this. His children are his life and he has endured such heartache. His oldest daughter was killed in a car acident 20 years ago, now his oldest son has committed suicide and his youngest son is in prison for the next 20 years. I suspect that my uncle is also a manic depressive who has never been diagnosed. Hopefully he can pull through all of this. Thank you for your prayers.
