spam blockers

I'm getting about 11-15 emails a day and none of them worth reading ---- spam! My ISP said to go go download.com and choose a spamblocker........ any advice? I used to have adware/spyware on my old computer, but haven't downloaded it on this one yet, do any of you use it too?

I don't use a spam blocker..it's funny the ONLY place I get spam is my idea box account! ?( :{ but you do need a spyware blocker. Spyware can really slow your puter down. I use Adaware and Spybot.

One comes with Norton Internet Security. I agree with Ann that it slows things down.
