Hello all!
My name is Monica, I have 4 children, 16, 7, 5, 3 My 7 year old daughter, Ashley has a Geography project she is doing for school. They are learning about geographical locations, enviroments and how humans adapt to their enviroment, or adapt the enviroment to them.
For the project, we are asking for other children/families to email us with some information about the area in which they live. With the responses we will map them out, and also make a book about the places we have learned about. In return for your effort in helping us with our project, we will send you the information we compile if you would like to have it. We have 3 weeks to complete this project so we will be taking information for the next, two weeks or so, leaving the last week for her to map, and make her project.
Below is the information we are looking for, anything you find time to send us, and are comfortable sending would be excellent and very appretiated!!! Also, if you know of anyone else who would be interested and willing to help with our project please forward this to them, as we are trying to cover as many areas as we can!
When I compile the information together, any personal information will be omitted such as email addresses and such. I would like to keep a first name, and age or grade with the info sent, as I think my daughter as well as other children would relate to it better, however if you are not comfortable with that, any geographical/enviromental info you would be willing to send out to us would be great!
The things we are looking for are as follows:
Where do you live? Country, State, Town
What type of home do you live in, and why, what makes it unique to your enviroment?
What type of transportation do you most commonly use and why?
What is a favorite place in your area to go, where is it located( any geographical location, a river, lake, farm, store, park, etc...)
is there a website for your area? or a place on the web that you know of with pics, and/or information about your area, and or favorite place?
Some common things found in your area, plants, animals, insects, crops, industries, something your area may be known for.
Maybe a favorite food that comes from your area, or a recipe for a dish that is commonly prepared where you are?
Anything else about the your area that may be helpful with our study.
