Up early... dh has his networking meeting this morning. I'm also suppose to start someone a little earlier today... hope that also means an early pick up. :) It's only suppose to get up into the upper 50's today... so not the nicest day in the world.
Went to Target last night to do some shopping and while I was there suddenly got sick as a dog. I grabbed a plastic carbage, just in case... didn't want to make a big mess in one of the isles. Hurry and went home and tried to rest a bit... until the neighbor's next door decided to come over. (will post about that later) I'm still not feeling the best... but better. Of all the day's it just had to happen today when I've got all of my kids back... full time. Ugh... At least dd is here to help me. Not a great day. Probably the day my social worker will pop in.
Anyway... I hope you all have a great day. Take care...

Just got a call... one of my families (the one with the baby) isn't going to be here today. I hate to hear that the baby is sick... but that will certainly help me be able to get through my day. :) Hope he and I get better real soon. (I am feeling better than I was last night)...
Diane...
Hope you feel better.
Same old, same old here.
Work. Today's my last day in this job for 2 years or forever, if I find something else, lol. Have a meeting this a.m. and coffee and cake for someone in the office who's leaving.
Diane, hope you feel better soon.

Hope you feel better Diane. What happens when a dc provider is sick like this? Do you let your parents know so they can decide whether or not to bring their kids in .... how does that work?
My house is upside down. I've got errands out the butt to do and the laundry has reproduced. What is going on around here???
You'd think the maid would have this stuff under control. Oh yeah -- forgot, I'm the maid!! :{
Right now, I am giggling about my son's lessons in logical consequences. He is horrible about picking up his room and bringing me his laundry, so I quit doing it. Well, he evidentally washed some clothes before he went to bed last night and then got up and put them in the dryer this am. They weren't quite dry when he needed to leave for the bus. He decided that I should take him to school so that his clothes would have time to dry. I said "why should I be inconvenienced when I offer to do your laundry but you don't give it to me?" he huffed off to school in damp clothes! LOL

ROFLMAO!! Thanks for the morning laugh!
I'm doing laundry as I type. I don't think I got any done yesterday like I had planned. Have several things to do this morning. Luckily the errands I have to run are here on base.
I talked to my principal yesterday. The secreatry didn't want to sent up an appointment for me, so she had the principal call me when she was free. I talked to her about wanting more hours (and reminded her that we had talked about it in my interview) and even asked about working more hours at her school. I told her I had signed up to be a sub, but that I didn't know how the process worked. She told me some people to talk to and get trained by at the school and then told me to let the Secretary know and she can inform the rest of the staff. She also told me how to go about subbing at the other school (ds's where I interviewed). We'll see where this leads...
Hope you are feeling better Diane.
Jen- the two days that I was sick when I did dc, I woke up early and called other providers to find openings for all my dc kids. I then called the parents and let them know I wasn't going to be open and that I found care for their child with another provider and gave them the other information about the provider. The provider's I used for back up care all knew my dck's so they weren't strangers to them. Diane is lucky because she has her daughters that can help. By the regulations that I had to follow, I had to watch the kids.

Enjoy your last day!!! :yippee:
Is the cake and coffee for you? I'm confused now.
Did your supervisor ever announce you were leaving?

Wow! Did your parents know how lucky they were to have you? :* How nice of you to do that!

Oldest ds is home with the flu - hoping the rest of don't get it. Maybe I'll get caught up on some cleaning and laundry since we'll be home all day....or maybe I better just hang out and keep a reeeaally close eye on him while he's resting.
Bev - Happy last day of work!
JAK - Good luck with the job situation!
Ann - oooo, you're good!! :thumb: I give in waaaay too much.

would you tell my dh that. He think they should listen (and I do to) but he thinks I should just ride their behinds till they get it done.. I disagree, I think that teaches them not to listen to me.

Laundry here today too. I have ds2 home again. He seems fine but I wanted to make sure he is over the flu before sending him back to school. The youngest is still battling a cold, it irritates his asthma. Hopefully he'll be over it soon.
Hope you feel better soon Diane.
Have a nice day all. :)

That's exactly what it teaches them, or they think you really don't mean it until you tell them for the umpteenth time ususally in a very raised and irritated voice.
I love natural consequences. On day this year one of my students decided to tie his shoelaces to the poll of the walk canopy during car rider pick-up. (He was always doing things like that.) The duty people just left him to untie himself. He just made the knots tighter. When Mom came through the line she was told to pull over and untie him. He has not done anything like that again.

LOL Ann, that is classic, I bet that lesson will be learned for sure.
Work, then home for a light workout and dinner with the family.
Open house was so wonderful last night...Kids really did a great job of showing dh and I around. I am so proud of them.
Dh has to work on Saturday, I plan on just puttering around the house. I am still taking antibiotics, but its slow going on feeling 100%...Must have gotten something good....
We are heading to the Cemetary on Sunday, I can't believe it's been 13 years since my mother passed.....Seems like I just spoke with her yesterday and at the same time, seems like I just lost her all at once. April is always hard for me.....We are honoring her
by taking the kids out after to her favorite resturant, the one where I introduced her to DH, and they fell for each other on the spot....we would go there alot when I was a child, so its neat to take my own children there.
Hope your feeling better Diane...being sick stinks.

Not much new here...work is the same...getting crazy as ever...babysat for friends so they could do an anniversary dinner last night. Now the youngest (4 years old, with a broken arm) doesn't want me to babysit anymore because I would not let her run all over the neighborhood with her sister (who's 9). So I'm no longer the favorite babysitter. But Dad said she was mad at him too earlier for same thing. LOL.
Anyway That's it on home front. Hope you all have nice night!

I usually call to let them know that I'm not feeling well. If I feel good enough to where I think I can still do a good job taking care of the children... I'll give the parents the option of bringing them. If they decide they don't want to (which has never happened) then it's up to them to find their own back up. (which is usually the children's grandparents) If I feel I'm too sick to function and do a good job taking care of the kids... I'll just take the day off, with no choice given as to whether they want to bring them or not.
I was actually feeling quite well by noon and perfect by mid afternoon so... I'm glad I decided to work and not put anyone out.
Jen and Jen, lol...
The party with the cake and coffee yesterday was for an assistant director who was in our dept. for a year and is now going back to her previous position. Nothing was done for me and I even had to "ask" for an email to go out to let other staff know that I was leaving for 2 years. When we had out check-out review meeting yesterday morning, only 1 staff member (other than the 2 coworkers I'm close to) congratulated me on my new position and offered best wishes. I don't know why I thought people would care and/or be happy for me, lol.
