Paying a house-sitter?

We're thinking of asking one of the teens at church to house sit while we are gone on vacation this summer. The main thing is so our dog won't go nuts. :) We will probably also ask them to water the trees as well.

Is there a going rate, like there is for a babysitter? What would a ball-park be if there's no average? I really have no idea.

I'm interested to know that myself. We are having someone stay at our house this summer to look after the cats. We are boarding the dog though.

A gal at work does this for her neighbors quite often. If you guys don't get any replies here I can ask her what she gets. :)
