How much more polite this board has been since registration is required? I know I haven't checked in here everyday and haven't read all the posts, but I don't remember any major disagreements. Everyone has been getting along so well.
It's comforting to know that I can come here and give my opinion and not have someone rip me apart up because I don't agree with them. I think a lot has to do with being made accountable for what we say, by registering.
Thanks to you all for making this a fun, comfortable place!!
Yep, I think having to use a name, makes it alot harder to just do "drive by" postings and to be controversial for controversy sake. It cuts down on people just being mean as a way of having a good time.

I've noticed that too and I really enjoy coming here a lot more... I think when your name is attached to your post your more apt to be a lot more careful what/how you say things. LOL

ITA! This is such a friendly board and even the debate board seems to be pretty calm ~ even with the differing opinions! Way to go everyone! :)

I didn't go to the old board that much, but I do think that this board is a nice friendly place to visit, and I enjoy coming here.
It is a lot friendlier, but sometimes it does get a little... dull? Not that we are dull, but there is NOTHING even on the debate board! I'm afraid that everyone's getting a little too cautious. I am home with kids most of the time, so I look for stimulating adult conversations to balance it out. It's nice to chat and hear about what everyone's doing, but I like to be intellectually challenged sometimes too. Seems like people aren't going for that much anymore.

Start some topics!
btw, I do agree with you to some extent. BUT, I really hated the "stirring the pot" posts on the other board. I love stimulating conversation, but don't think people need to be rude to have it. I think the anon feature on the old board allowed people to be rude in the guise of stimulating conversation. I think it made it easy for them to just go for the cheap shot or just "drive by" stir things up and leave rather than use their intellect to prove a point...I found it tiresome rather than stimulating many times.
they have been some interesting posts on the debate board but I have noticed too that people aren't posting there...I don't know if they stay on the VIEW NEW POST board very long or not...I love talking here with everyone, and hope that I am not borring anyone with my post....LOL...

I'll have to admit that there have been a time or two when... if my name weren't going to be attached to the post, I probably would have said something more than I did. LOL There was the time when I doubted if somebody was really an adult or a child... drove me CRAZY!!! (sorry) Anyway... I still don't want to be rude and get into trouble so I'll be quiet. LOL Am I terrible???

You don't bore me with your talk, so keep it up. I enjoy your company.

I agree with you. If my name wasn't attached , I would love to say more sometimes. I have also wondered about some of the posters, so we are in the same boat, but on that note, I will keep my mouth shut now too. LOL!
