I would cheerfully throw this ***** computer out the window if dh would let me!!!!!

My monitor screen is rimmed with black. All the fiddling with the little knobs at the bottom does nothing. I can't get the display to settings to work like they were before. Web pages are huge and the right side of each page is way off the right of my computer screen with no scroll bar to see them. While the pages are huge, the font is tiny. None of this makes any sense and I have no clue what to do to get it back!!! :tearhair: Help!!!!! I've gone to View and Text Size and it's on medium, where it's always set and I can still hardly read the words.

I just love computers!!!! :banghead:

I don't know if this will help but right click on your desktop then goto properties and selct the settings tab and see what your screen area is set to. If its 480 by 640 bump it to 600 x 800 and see if that helps. Then you can go tp the advanced settings in the same tab and see what the font is that is selected.

Hubby says to take the monitor in and ck it out... or if ya have another puter to plug it into then ck it out that way ... if the monitor is working correctly that way then its possibly your on board video card ... or have you installed a video card ??
He says that is possibly one of the two items ??? ....

If its on-board video card then you can disable it and install a video card.

you can purchase a pci or agp video card, depends on the age of your puter ??
but if you dont' know how to with the video card then you will have to take it in to have it fixed.. or ck'd ...

hope this helps....

It fixed itself!!! I swear I tried all you said and everything was just weird! So I tried re-booting and it healed itself.

Sheesh! This thing is a pain in the butt! Thanks for your help. (I'd still like to throw the blasted thing out the window, lol!)

sometimes websites and many times games adjust the settings and then if it doens't close out properly from the program for whatever reason it can cause that to happen.
