MM! We took a field trip to Home Depot yesterday ! WOOOOHOOOO! Big deal here you know. It's about an hour and a half trip. We decided to put in a whirlpool instead of just a regular bath tub. A little more $ but....ahhh. I can see me in there, relaxing with candle lit and a glass of wine and a hundred roosters crowing in the background. lol
If we put in a whirlpool we have to go with white or cream. I was kind of set on light grey. The new tile throughout the house is going to be a light grey marble. We found a pretty tile, white with a very light grey inset. 6"x10" I think. Then I can have grey grout.
Found a pretty stock vanity in white, that includes a marble sink top too for only $199. Nice.
We're looking at $1,000 for the tub, sink and commode. I was thinking of just putting a piece of plain mirror instead of a medicine chest and that pretty vanity lighting, 5 bulbs. We're having a custom cedar linen closet built in just outside the bathroom door.
I talked HH into letting me add PVC lattice to the walls to allow me to carry the garden theme all over the bathroom.
I have a folder of ideas for just the bathroom. HH has been joking I need to go back to work. Too much time for me to dream up these de$igner ideas .lol

Sounds really pretty!
Isn't it fun!!!

Till you have to clean it! It's a real pain. We hardly ever use ours. Looks nice though.

WOW!! Arianna, I am so jealous. It sounds like it will be beautiful. Here I am just trying to get energy to clean mine. We do have a big 2 Person size jacuze tub. We really don't use it that oftend. DD takes her daily bath in there though. She loves the room to play. It is surrounded by 3 huge mirrors. She has a blast. So, beware!! Your kidoes will claim your tub!!

It sounds very nice... I'm hoping that some day I'll have jacuze tub... it would be SOOOO nice to have. Dh has talked about it... but I'm sure it's not something that will happen right away so for now... I'll only dream about it and envy you and your's. LOL :)

I'm picturing you relaxing in the whirlpool--****-a-doodle doo! LOL!
Sounds awesome! How long will it all take? Is dh (HH? What does that stand for?) going to do it himself?
That sounds spectacular and I bet it'll be a good place to relax. But now you've done it. I feel the urge to move something else. I'm not sure putting the screen in the storm door will give me the same thrill. LOL

Guess I am too kid orientated!
Your new bathroom sounds great! Hope it all comes together......I LOVE the idea of the lattice in the bathroom....hmmmmm wonder if I could incorporate that into mine. Now you got me thinking!

MM! Mickey HH = H andsome H usband :-)
We'll do some of it ourselves, but we have to find a qualified plumber to install the whirlpool. Since the floor of our house (and the rest of the house for that matter) is in cement, if there's a plumbing mistake, it's costly. You have to jackhammer the mistake out of the floor.
Finding a qualified plumber out here in the country is going to be our biggest challenge for the bathroom. HH is going to do the tile work. It's a drop in whirlpool , so the area surrounding the tub will have tile on the surface.
I found nice hydrangea hooks in the Terri's Village catalog and am going to use accessories that would normally be used for gardening outside, inside. Flowerpots to hold toothbrushes, a garden tool carrier for soaps and lotions and galvanized tub to hold extra towels, ect...
For a shower curtain I'm going to sew pockets of sheer fabric onto floor length sheers for a window and fill the pockets with silk flower petals and use the hydrangea hooks for tiebacks. That should hide the shower curtain liner.
I have an old chair I'm going to white wash and also sew a sheer slipcover for to hold a planter box filled with silk flowering plants and old fashioned gardening tools.
The latticework will be adorned with silk flowering vines and live plants will also spruce up the room. The lattice will be finished at the top with whitewashed wooden shelving.
I am considering stenciling the walls behind the latticework for an added detail. See, maybe I do need to back to work or go into the design business. lol

Ha Ha! I had to laugh, Kat! We are sooooo similar!! I agree, we have a whirlpool tub...love it! Until...you have to clean it :) That is a pain! Our kids use it more than we do. They get a real kick out of the "jets". Before they get out, I give them clean cloths and make them wipe it down for me!! Ours is white...gets dusty fast. But, it does look awesome, and if fantastic when you need to escape.
sounds wonderful, I'll be over when its done for a long bath...LOL...I'll bet that it looks great when your done....keep us posted on the progress
I too thought this would be a potty question...LOL....
HH I like that Arianna....

That is too funny. That is probably what my dh would think if he read it too!

Our ensuite bath gets to resemble a library at times. (and it's not mine).
