Howdy,
We just got a call from SIL. The family of 6 are coming to visit. They will be here for a week. I am excited for a visit, but where will they all sleep. I have 3 living areas, but not exactly private rooms. We have one spare bedroom. I thought that I could put the 13 year old girl in our office (which was a formal dining room off the kitchen. I think I could get a folding screen to give her privacy) Now I need to reorganize the room and perhaps buy 2 roll away beds. Oh what plans I could make if money wasn't an issue.
Any ideas???

I'd ask friends/neighbors to see if they have a rollaway you can borrow before buying anything. When I go to visit relatives I don't care if I sleep on the floor, just enjoy your time together!!

I wouldn't go to too much trouble... after all, they're coming to visit you, not put you out. We've visited relatives out of town before and slept on the floor in sleeping bags and that was fine with us. Either that or as angie r suggested... ask neighbors to seeif they have a rollaway you can borrow. Good luck and have a fun visit...

Another thing that will probably be cheaper than a rollaway bed is an air mattress. That is what I used to sleep on when I went to my aunt's house. just an idea. Hope everything turns out okay. Keep us updated.
I wouldn't go out and buy anything either. Sleeping bags will be just fine for the kids, offer the adults the spare room.

ITA! Look into other options before spending any $$$. When we have Christmas with my Grandma there are 25 of us, so someone (usually all of the kids) sleep on the floor in sleeping bags. At that age they don't mind and it doesn't affect their backs like it would us! LOL!

Y'all are terrific. I just got the thoughts rolling. It would help if I did some major dejunk and cleaning. The spare bedroom often becomes the catch- all room.
Now, I need ideas on how to feed a family of six. HELPPP!!

6! That's about as big as our crew! LOL
I agree with the others about the sleeping bags and air mattress. When we have company over the kids love to camp out on the floor of their rooms. They'd camp outside in tent if the weather was warm enough.
Food, keep it simple. Hot dogs, burgers, spaghetti, sloppy joes, pancakes, sandwiches, frozen pizza. In my experience anyway when kids are together they love to eat fast and get back to playing. Oh yeah, invest in paper plates so the dirty dishes are kept to a minimum.
Good luck and have fun!!!
