View Full Version : Sunday
didn't make it to church. The alarm went off, I got up but saw that DH was in the shower, so I laid back down till he got out...oops woke up at 9! Went in and to get DS up and tell him I would take him anyway, but he said he wasn't feeling well..he is weird about food touching each other and the sausage and chicken were on the same platter last night so he only ate corn on the cob (and I think it was hunger pains...great job us!!!
gonna go look at DH's house now that it is finished and it will be our last time since it closes Tuesday..yea money!!!!!!!!
that's about it.

Oldest is going to a friend's to play. Dh is running into school with youngest ds and I need to go to the Y and run a few errands. Hoping we can head in together since his school is right next to the Y. :) May have dh's coaching buddy out tonight for supper and to watch the Lakers and Pistons.

Not much going on here...trying to get motivated to do something...I would love to clean my house but I'm very achy still so I don't think that is a good Idea. think I'll call Dr. tomorrow.
May just do alittle....My shower needs it because there are no windows in bath room and it's got a musty smell. Think I'll just spray some scrubbing bubbles in there and rinse it off for now.
Going to do job searching too. We'll see how energized I get.
Have a great day!

Just got back from church. Waiting for the stores to open, as we're looking to buy a set of "junior" golf clubs for dks. They have outgrown thier mismatched set...and have a sports camp to attend in a couple of weeks. I guess one of the units is golf. Plus...they like to go to the driving range with dh. Hoping to find something decent...and inexpensive.
I'm taking a mini course at one of the local colleges the next two weeks. It's only T/W/TH mornings. Looking forward to getting it over with.

I'm not sure what we're going to do today. I don't want to stay at home, I want to do something or visit someone. Dh wants to stay home, maybe I'll go out later on my own. No housework today. The house is tidy enough and I only need to do a bit of laundry tonight for the kids.
I think we will get some sand for the sandbox for Nicholas though. It was given to us and it needs to be filled. Going to look for the colored sand. Have a good day all. :)
Melody..buy pea gravel. they can still pour, dig ect but it doesn't track everywhere and attrack cats.
Mary..not sure what your price range is, but if your kids are serious about golf this is a really good set and bag (know you don't have the store there)

Mary, can't remember your dk's ages, but Target has a junior set on sale for $34. It has a wood, 2 irons, a putter and carrying bag! It's too cute! You could probably look it up at target.com to see if it's what you need.

Nothing much planned for us today. Dd spent the night with mom, so df and I are taking it easy! Going to see Garfield this afternoon :yippee: ! Can't wait!!! We'll probably grill out afterwards. Wish it was sunny so I can lay in the pool and get some sun, might have to go to the tanning bed, instead!

You always tease me about being old, well take some advice from this old lady who spent many years in the sun and has so much skin damage that I have to do a melanoma check every six months and pretty much wear foundation all the time..DON'T DO IT!!! especially a tanning bed..it's just not worth it. There are so many good fake tans out there.
Mary, this one isn't too bad either..they have the 5-9 version too

Quiet day here. Dh took the older kids to church and I'm home with ds2. Dd1 has a pool party after church and we're going to mil's for lunch.
Hopefully there will be time for a nap later.

I know, I don't want to look like a leather bag when I'm older, but it does help my skin (been breaking out a lot lately for some reason). I know that's not really a good excuse, but I have yet to find any products that will clear my skin up. I'm fortunate to have some Cherokee blood in me, so I tan easily and rarely burn, but that's still not a good excuse.
Okay, I'll skip the tanning bed today !!
Dh and I got back just after lunch from Niagara Falls. Sure was nice for the two of us to get away. Never even called home once to check on ds, lol.
Cloudy and sometimes overcast. Not a great day, weather wise.
Mary, my ds has a junior set of golf clubs he's selling...too bad you don't live closer, lol.

Thanks for the advice....
Ann...this will be a starter kind of set. Dh would like the boys to know how to golf. Ds1 has had a few lessons, and ds2 will take some this year. It'll be more of a hobby...not a competitive sport, I think.
Anyway, this is what we went with:
http://www.golfgods.com/tour-juniorgolfset.html
Dh trusted the Wilson name, and it wasn't the "cheapest" set nor the too expensive. Now, if it'd stop raining, dh told the kids he'd take them to the driving range this afternoon.
(Amy, we did check out that Target set. Not too bad, really. A good value. But my dh is a "brand name" man... .)
Mary, those look pretty good. Graphite shafts are great. They probably don't need more than 4 clubs right now either. Tell them to enjoy!
Amy, no excuse! You do know that sun increases the production of oil which can cause the skin to break out.

AnnW... now now .. depends on skin pigmentation for the tanning.. lolol If I dont' get some sun tanning then I look sick.. lol but then my skin pigmentation allows me to suntan .. (am so grateful for that too) .. lol
catch all later again ... gots to get to vbs...

But it also dries the zits up, so they're not on my face as long!! AND, the tanning bed helps prevent SAD (seasonal affective disorder)!! (I know, pulling this stuff of out my @$$!!) LOL I do keep dd covered from head to toe b/c she's very fair-skinned.
Sorry, to disagree Judy..darker skins may not burn, but that doesn't immunize you from skin damage or melanoma.
Yep, Amy...pulling it! ;)

LOL
Darker skin isn't immune to skin damage or melanoma, but it does decrease the chances over people with fair skin and less pigmentation. :)
(I thought the SAD thing was pretty creative! )

OMG you are pulling things out of your @$$! You live in TN what would you know about SAD??? Move to AK or Canada for a while in the middle of winter!
Busy day here. A friend asked us to babysit from 1230-4 and it ended up being until 650! I thought dh was going to shoot her! We went to her house and our dog was locked in his kennel for 7 hours! Doesn't sound too long, but his longest before today was about 5 1/2 hours and he went nuts after we let him out.

I know I have asked you before, but what do you use? I am trying trying trying to not lay out this summer and want something good. How do you get it even around your knees, etc? I do not want streaky obvious marks. 8o

I use Bain de Solie streak guard formula.
I exfoiliate really well first, then take my time putting it on. I put a little bit of lotion on my knees, elbows, hands and ankles where it tends to take better.
