Back to Monday already. I can't believe how fast the weekend went. We got a lot done anyway.

I couldn't sleep last night... finally got up at 5:00. I'll have even less kids today. One of my mom's came home early on Friday with the bad new's that she had just been laid off. I sure hope she finds another job, real soon. I don't want to have to replace her kids... they're both pretty good, but I will if I have to.

Not too much on my agenda today. If it rains I was thinking about letting the kids make cookies for their afternoon snack. They always seem to eat what they make themselves a lot better. LOL I should start having them make their own lunches. LOL

We'll have Sarah again tonight. Dawn/James brought her over last night for a few hours. She's been having a bad/hard time each/every time she's around other people... whether her mommy/daddy are here with her or not. She'll look at you and just scream/cry... so they've been busy taking her out to visit everyone. Hopefully she'll be better for us tonight than she was last week. Ugh! LOL We still love having her though... Oh yeah... she got her first two teeth. They're barely out but you can still see them... :)

Better get out for my walk before it get's too late. Hope you all have a great day!

I am taking ds to a developmental appointment today. It is a three part series to try and pinpoint what his learning disablities are. He already had his physical, today is Language/Speech and the appointment next week is with the developmental pediatrician. The Ped. is a national expert in Asperger's, so I am more than excited to see what he thinks. My goal for spending all this money is to give ds the best chance at a successful school life. The high intelligence is there, it is finding the right combination to open the lock and keep it open that is my goal. Wish us luck!

Diane, have fun with Sarah tonight.

Amy, good luck with ds's appointments.

Not much on today. Work of course. It's humid out, but at least it's warm. There's a chance of a thunder shower this afternoon. We had a bad storm last night...took down lots of branches in the neighbourhood park that the city was cleaning up this a.m. on my way in to work. Need to hit the library after work and the bank later to get money out for ds to take on his grad trip. They need to be at the school at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

It's supposed to rain again today....ho hum. This rain is getting on my nerves. ;) Ds1 has a baseball game tonight...ds2 has tae kwon do. Staying home for most of the day. The boys will be going to their former babysitter's house for the next 3 mornings while I'm taking a class. They're not thrilled about it...but they'll survive. This is the same sitter who watched them from the time they were babies...until they started Kindergarten. They adore her...but they just like to stay home.

Good luck at your ds's appointment today, Amy. I had a child in my class who I suspected had Asperger's. He left our school (parent's didn't want to have him evaluated), so I never found out what happened with him. He was such a great kid....he just had trouble "clicking". Very difficult to explain.

Diane, have fun with baby Sarah. It sounds like James and Dawn are doing the right thing by exposing her to many people and situations. Kind of a "stranger anxiety" thing, huh?

Vea, ... sometimes you just gotta go to work and do the best you can with what's presented to you. Every work environment has it's bad and good parts...you need to be the good part for those children and families. Try to come home knowing that you made it a great day for those little ones in your care today.

DS has a tournament today. DD is blowing off swimming, has theater this afternoon.
DS finally cleaned his room so I have a ton of laundry to do. Gonna hit the treadmill been very lazy with that.

Diane, have fun with Sarah. DD bonded so hard and strong with me that she wouldn't go to anyone else..it was so hard on me and her! How sad for that mom to lose her job. I hope she is able to find one.

Amy, good luck with the evaluation. You are such a great mom!!

Got up a little eralier than I have all summer. I got up at 8. Have some housework to do and the kids want to go to the library again. They have been reading machines. A few of the jobs I applied for close today so I'm hoping to hear something tomorrow. Going to look this afternoon to see if any more were posted.

Diane- I hope that you dc mom finds a new job soon. Good Luck with Sarah. Dd was like that with me. She got over it though!

It was supposed to be rainy and stormy so I dressed in sweats. Now it's sunny and they aren't calling for rain. Guess I'll find my shorts. Nothing happening here today. Maybe wash the kitchen floor when ds3 goes to sleep this afternoon.
Not sure what to make for dinner. Ribs or whole chicken. Maybe bbq. What's everyone else having? LOL
Amy, good luck with the appt. today.

Saw the Speech and Language therapist today. She told me before the testing that she doesn't give opinions right after the testing and it takes time for her to go over her notes to give an opinion. Well....right after testing, she called me into her office and told me she already thinks she knows what he has!8o It's not Asperger's (I never thought so either), but dyspraxia or apraxia (forgot the correct term). It is basically a language and processing disorder. Attention deficit is another term she brought up, but isn't the prevalent disorder here. It's more of a problem we should watch rather than treat before we treat the aparaxia. ADD wouldn't shock me because I believe my brother, dh and Bil all have ADD.

Next week is the Pediatrician. He will be the last piece to this puzzle. This is the first time in all the testing he has ever had done, that makes the most amount of sense. Definitely worth the money for this piece of mind!!:*

Thank you all for the good wishes!

I had such grandiose plans of rising early and accomplishing much before the dc woke up. Ds2 was awake every 1/2 hour to 45 minutes last night. My alarm went off at 5:30 and I dragged my sorry butt out of bed at 8:00 this morning. I am sooooo sleepy! Ds2 is eating lunch now and as soon as I do some mopping I'm going to nap when he does. :)

Amy, that is great that you've found some answers that fit!!! I know the relief you must feel. Finally, some concrete directions to take! Let us know how things progress.

Amy, glad to hear you're getting some answers, good luck with the Ped. next week.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, work, dentist, more work! yee-haw! (I'm pushing for another lay off since I didn't lose my 5 years with CIGNA, I could use another paid vacation! ) Yes, I've become extremely lazy! Need to get in and do laundry and get dd started with the Hooked on Phonics I got off of ebay. She's really excited about it.

Oh, yeah... grrr! Got a letter in the mail Saturday from the Delinquite Tax office, for 2001, I didn't buy my house until 2003. And we closed through a title company, so it should have been caught. Called the DT office, they said to contact the title company. Called the title company, they said they'd have to pull the file. I'm calling again first thing in the a.m., the lady I spoke with at the tax office said if the title co, doesn't pay it, I'll have to. Oh HE(( no!!! Also called my realtor, she said to let her know if I don't get some answers in the next day or so. I have a bad feeling about this situation. Diane, my realtor, said that the agency the seller used uses this title company often, but her agency doesn't. The agent the sellers used was a major B---- throughout the whole process, and she was very buddy, buddy with the woman at the title company. I think those taxes might have been overlooked on purpose. Just a feeling when looking back at how everything went down. The sellers only made $1400 off the sale of the house, if they'd paid those taxes, it would have been $300. I plan on fighting tooth and nail. The sellers never should have been able to close, the title never should have been transferred to my name, until the back taxes were paid. Seems odd that the title company didn't fully check the title, or didn't catch something from only 2 years prior to the closing date. Seems a little too suspicious to me. Nothing is ever simple! I really hope this mess gets straightened out soon, hate having to deal with stuff like this! aaarrrggg!!!!

I did not sleep well last night. Woke up a million times and then from 3:30 - 8 felt like I never slept. Had a mtg this morning - I went in early to get some stuff done and ended up staying almost 2 hours after it was done. I have been slacking with inputing my monthly info and need to get caught up. :tearhair: Dh built shelves in the garage, so I ran to get totes and we have been working on getting it all cleaned out and organized. I am wiped out, but excited with our progress!! :D Last night I worked on getting pictures in albums....I am only 3 years behind. LOL! Think I'll pop in a movie and do some more of that tonight. :) Not sure how long this motivation will last, so I need to take advantage. ;)

Amy - Grr! Hope it all gets worked out and you don't have to pay!! :{

Amy - Glad you're getting more info and hope you have answers soon so you can move forward and help your ds progress! You ds is lucky to have a proactive mom looking out and working for the best for him!! :)
