I can feel it again. I have the dulldrums. And trying to get that happy feeling. I am trying to get some cleaning done, but I just don't want to.

I just want to throw everything out!! And not deal with it. I know this is coming from my feelings.

Is there anything I can do for this???

I must get some things done today. I go back to work tomorrow!!

Back in March there was a question titled *Serious Question about Prozac*. It had a bunch of tips that people use to deal with mood and PMS.

Here's info from an article I posted to that question.
This is out of Woman's World 3/20/01 Breakthrough Strategies to End PMS and
references New York University ob/gyn Steven R. Goldstein author of Could it
Be...Peri-menopause? The article broke down the symptoms. I'll only say part of
what it says under Stop Headaches and Mood Swings.

83% of women are deficient in at least one essential vitamin or mineral putting them
at risk of premenstrual hormone imbalances.

For maximum pain prevention consider taking 50 mg of vitamin B6 daily plus a
multimineral containing 1,200 mg of calcium and 500 mg of magnesium. Research
suggests that could significantly reduce premenstrual head pain for up to 60% of
women within 3 months. And it's just as effective at calming PMS mood swings;
studies at St.Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York show that calcium supplements
alone can cut your risk of mood swings in half.

They go on to say to try it (supplements) for 3 months and if that doesn't work to try
an anti-depressant such as Zoloft. It says antidepressants can can completely
eliminate dehabilitating emotional symptoms for 80% of women.

Also helpful is to take 325 mg of asprin every other day, all month long - and to wash
it down with a cup of coffee (as long as you're not battling breast pain). Studies
suggest that could reduce the number of PMS-triggered migranes you get by 20%,
and make the ones that do strike 40% easier to handle.

One of those little box inserts in the article says to take anti-inflammatories like
ibuprofen 48 hours before the pain usually strikes. This gives sufferers more pain
releif since they actually block the formation of pain-triggering prostaglandins,
instead of just dulling the pain after it hits. (ref Doc Goldstein again)

This article says Primrose Oil is one of the things good for breast swelling (70% of
women) but I've never had that and a friend's doctor said for moodiness.

Not in the article - I know there are two different types of calcium supplements. One
of the types is Calcium Carbonate. Of the two, one absorbs much better than the
other. I'm thinking the carbonate type (which is in MY vitamin) doesn't absorb as well
but I'm not positive. They just released a more complete study on that this last
week.

Lynda, thanks for the info. I must have missed that post. I remember the forum. Anyway, I made myself a copy.

Linda,
Thank you so much for posting. I did take my multi-vitamin this am. I know that good eating has a lot to do with it.

I would prefer to take a multi-vitamin to cure everything. LOLOL. Let me know if you find one.

RCT - You are a gem!! Thank you for the vitamin info. I do take tums for stomach trouble. What makes the PMS tums different??

Does the tums work without the St. Johns Wort??? I know so many questions.

It is good to have someone who has been there. My PMS used to not be, but since the 30's it is getting worse.

I hear you about it all changing in your 30's me too...the Tums PMS for life, I take two tabs in the morning, and two at night, I guess they have done studies on the effects of the calcium and stuff....I don't know how it works just that it does....LOL...

As for the St. Johns wort...I take this because I feel out of control emotionally, since I quite smoking and all this fincially stuff started, now the MIL situation...it seems to keep me on an even keel....you can take both or just either, they don't go together persay, but taking them together won't harm you either...make sense....

isn't this the greatest place to come and ask questions.....

You know I am so glad that you posted this. I have been a real b@#$ch lately, and I couldn't figure out why. I know now that it is PMS. I guess with all of this moving, I forgot what time of the month it was. LOL!!!

I hope that you find some relief soon.

I also think this is a great place to ask questions.
