The picture was taken back in March.
Before we new he was sick.
He was born Dec 27, 2003.
He is now 7 mths and 9 days old now.

thankssss for all the replies... I think he is a super cutie.. lololol :D

they are home for now.. he is going to be going to UNC atleast once a week, but will still go to Womack about twice a week..
next tuesday he will be admitted to UNC for about 3-4 days .. has developed a infection in the lungs. They have started him on antibodies ?? not sure what that really means ??
Did find a book on CF and am going to begin reading that...
He is getting really fussy about his eating, she has had to go back to nursing because he is refusing the bottle (but its because of the awful tasting meds) she is attempting different ways of trying to give him his meds. And it AIN'T !!! working tooo good.
But he is sorta at a 4 mth old level, but he has severe, advanced CF ... not sure what that means either just yet.
Jose mite be tranferring to VA, so they mite be moving there which will put him back at Walter Reed Hospital.
Did find out that he is the youngest that has had it this severe this fast. So it is going to be touch and go with alot of things with him, normally they are NOT this advanced so soon.
anyways ... will try and keep ya'll posted more ..

Update:
Tonio had a siezure yesterday. And was admitted to Womack. Today his viens had collapsed (but they did finally get a vein to re-attach the iv to him).. so they ended up taking him to UNC by ambulance about 5:30 pm ... he will be there for the next 3 to 4 days that I know of.
His Potassium is very low. His Electrolytes are outta whack. They started him on the salt water. This was the first bad bad seizure he has had. Totally freeked the twins out. They thought we had lost him for sure.

Thanks again for your prayers and kind thoughts for him... they are greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: ... They did surgery on him, on his right lung today. And also flushed out his lungs.
At the time that I finally got ahold of Becca the doc had not yet been in to talk to her about it fully. Tonio had just come out of recovery and they had just returned to their room.
They are going to put a device into his neck, instead of the "pic" ?? line into his arm. With the collapsed veins, it appears that it would now be almost impossible to do that.
Hopefully she will call me soon. Or I will call her later when I think things have settled down some for them.
He broke my heart yesterday when he stared at me when they put him on the guerney to transport him. It was almost as if he was asking me why I was allowing them to take him. He would stare at the ambulance drivers then at each of us as if asking us NOT to allow this. He had already begun to throw fits everytime a stranger (nurse, cleaning person, dr) would enter the room as it was. I felt sooo sorry and sooo helpless!!!
And then to know he had this operation today. And knowing that Becca will be trying hard not to sit and cry as she holds him.
But he is recoverying from it fairly good so far according to Becca.

His veins have collapsed again, and hard to put the iv for feeding in him. So they have decided that they can't wait til thursday to do the shunt operation. Jose said they are waitng now for them to come and get him for it.
So the operation is going to be here shortly.

{{{HUGS}}} The clavicle shunt really will make things easier for him. No more poking. My dad had one for dialysis and my sister has one simply because she has such tiny, tiny veins and has to have blood drawn every three months. My uncle also has one because he has to have blood transfusions a couple times a month. Hopefully it will lessen the trauma for Tonio.

The surgery was a success... he is back in his room... finally .. sorry am late with this update.. just only arrived home at 9:30 tonite..
But they have put the shunt in and he is back in his room ... and he is angryyyy ... because he hadn't ate since last nite and he is hungry and I guess not able to eat fast enough to satisfy him .. lolol
so am super glad to hear he is wanting to eat ... yesss !!!!
He got mad at mommie for being on the fon with me letting me know what happened ... he wanted to eattt !!! .. lolol momma can talk later !!! .. lolol
