Ds just turned 3 and has showed signs of being rid of his diapers or any clothes for that matter. LOL When he wakes up, he strips all his clothes off and comes stomping upstairs thinking he is Reptar. He WILL use his potty 90 percent of the time without me asking him if he has to go a zillion times. I need help taking it to the next level.

He has stayed dried if we go out for a short time, but I think he forgets he doesn't have a diaper on and wets himself the other times. Am I confusing him by putting on diapers and underwear? When he is naked sometimes he runs around and can't hold it in any longer and will have accidents. How do I prevent this? He also will do bm in the potty, but he is not proud of that. LOL

Any good hints or tips that will finally put my stock in carpet cleaner out of business?? ROFL!

My ds was close to 3 when he was potty trained. I spent a couple of days where I asked him often if he had to go potty and sometimes even if he said no I would have him try to go. It was actually easier than I ever thought it would be - one of those parenting things that the thought of overwhelmed me! LOL! When you take him out have him go potty before you leave the house and then maybe ask him a few times while you are out and then right before you head for home? Once I decided to go forward with 100% training, diapers were no longer an option during the day.

From what I have read it is confusing for kids to go back and forth btwn diapers and underwear, but I did still have ds wear a diaper at bedtime because he would always wake up wet. I just told him he would wear them so he wouldn't get all wet in case he had an accident and he was fine with it.

He regressed around 3 1/2 where he would start to go before he got to the bathroom or just go where he was because he was so involved with something that he didn't want to take the time to go to the bathroom! Ugh! I can't remember how I got him to stop doing this though! lol!

Don't know if I helped any. Sounds like your ds is almost there! Good luck!!

With the daycare kids I have had I always tell them to get rid of the diapers and just use underwear. If they are ones that wet a lot during nap then I will suggest a diaper for that time but not any of the rest of the time.

For my son I just got rid of the pullups and the diapers and had him wear underwear all the time He became trained really quick. Except he still occasionally wets the bed at night.

Thank you Karla and Angie L. I forgot I posted this. He is doing pretty good and even takes his naps without a diaper with no problem. I haven't been bold enough to try it at night yet because he still wakes up with a wet diaper.

Now any advice on aiming? LOL Even with the splash guard up, he still manages to get it all over the place.

Throw cheerios into the potty and tell him to aim for that!

Yeah we did the cheerios thing too. Works as long as you use it. I live with 3 males and none of them give a rats behind about their aim. Talk about pet peeves!!

I have also heard of the cheerios or fruit loops. Make a game out of it. Maybe he'll think that is fun enough to aim correctly.

No advice on that one. Three males in this house, so I think I'll be dealing with this for a LONG time! LOL!

Glad your ds is doing well! The night diapers are a tough one for us, too!
