    National Board Certification

Anyone gone through the process? I'm thinking about it. How do-able is it? Will I have a life?

I've heard it's a LOT of work! A friend of mine went through the process. I don't know much about it, though. Are there different certifications?

I'd be going for Early Childhood Generalist Ages 2-8. It's tons of work and very nit-picky on the portfolio. I'm more worried about the center assessments. I haven't studied in 20 years and my poor brain is rusty when it comes to holding things in now.

The pay raise is substantial. The state pays $5000 and my school has a 100% match each of the 10 years the certificate is good for. That's nothing to sneeze at.
