What time is dinner time at your house?

When we lived in NJ we always ate late...then we had children...started eating earlier....

when we lived in Upstate NY we ate around 6:00 PM

Now it usully around 6:00 to 6:30.

just wondering when you all eat....

when I was growing up it was always dinner at 5:00 PM

Dh is able to leave work between 4:00/15... so is home early. Seeing I'm home, I'm able to make dinner so it's ready by the time dh gets home. I like eating and getting the dishes done early so we can sit down and enjoy the rest of our evening.

It vary's..Depends on a number of things, if I am working or not, what time I am working. When Dh gets home and the DS#1's Tae Kwon Doe falls in too...

Most times it is around 5:30/6:00. When I work a shift that starts at 5 or earlier DH cooks for the kids and then they eat at about 6:30

    Kinda crazy...

I don't even get home until 6-6:30. Dh rarely beats me home either. At 5:00 there is not a strong likelihood of ANYone being home. We've been eating around 7 on good days.....but it's been almost 8 a few times lately.

I like to have the kids dinner ready when they get home from school at 4. The problem is that they are usually hungry again about 8, lol. We don't have any set time. On Brichard's days off the kids will just have a snack after lunch and we'll eat about 6.

I didn't realize so many people ate so late.

When you all get home and eat so late... do you usually make big meals (meat/potato/vegetable) or something quick/easy... small? I couldn't imagine working hard all day, then having to come home to make a big meal. I honestly don't know how some of you do it... you must be totally exhausted by the time you're able to sit down for the evening and rest.

    who does that???
by the time i've worked maybe two jobs in one day or had scouts/errands, etc. I'm doing laundry, checking homework, straightening the house, etc. at night. I don't sit down to rest til I hit the pillow (or come here).

4:00 dinner sounds very early to me, but I don't usually get lunch til nearly 2:00 some days. We typically eat between 6-7. Dance days, dd gets a heavy snack at about 5:00 (tuesdays) then it's just a late dinner after dance on Fridays (after 7).

Dh is going to work earlier, coming home earlier now so its starting to be closer to 5:30 or 6 but the normal for us has always been 6-7. Time flies when the kids get home from school and we are so busy I can forget to put the potatoes on or something but now I know once they are home to do it. I find it very early to eat at 5:30 but with summer around the corner we will all want it to be done with early to get a good long bike ride in each night.

We eat between 6 and 6:30 most days. Since every other week I work until 4:45, there's no way I can get dinner on the table any earlier than that, lol. Dh gets home around 4:15 every day, so if he knows what I've planned for dinner, he'll help get the potatoes ready if need be, etc. I'd hate eating as soon as I get in the door. I like to be able to take a breather for a half hour or so before I start cooking.

It depends on dh's schedule, how hungry I am, if I have a plan as to what to make LOL, and if I've had a chance to cook without dd squawking for attention. But, usually it's btwn 5-6 for us.

Dh and I usually don't like anything big/heavy for dinner, so we usually end up eating a lot of sandwiches, (BLT's, Grilled cheese, or just plain meat) Salads or soups. I'll make things in my crockpot once in a while, especially if I know I'm going to have Sarah for the day, but I probably don't use it as often as I should.

I don't know how you all do it with your busy schedules.
