    Saturday

dh's cell phone started beeping cause the battery was low and woke me up at 4 grrrr!!!

Tonite is "Sweet 16". All the sophomore girls at our high school get together to throw a dance to celebrate their 16th birthdays. Each sweet 16 invites a junior girl and a freshman girl. DS has been invited as an escort. (that means he is going with one of the sweet 16 girls). It's a pretty big deal, all the sweet 16's wear white, there is a big dinner for them before the dance, a special entrance with their escort and then a father/daughter dance at the beginning. It's formal and my cousin's tux fit ds perfectly so I didn't have to rent one!!! I have to pick up his date's corsage (a single white rose with baby's breath wrist corsage) after 3, he picks her up at 5 and we are doing pictures, then the dinner is at 5:30. The dance doesn't end till 11:30!
we were both worried yesterday cause he wasn't feeling well and was throwing up and he said 'mom, i just got to be better tomorrow, I can't bale on her that would just be awful!' he was doing better last night..so keeping my fingers crossed!
one of my best friend's daughter has been invited (she's a freshman) and I am doing her makeup sometime this afternoon.
and in between all this...more laundry and housecleaning! LOL

What an exciting evening!! I hope he feels much better today. Fill us in on the details tonight!

I have to work, dd has Girl's Golf this morning then they are showing Riverdance at the dance studio tonight (they do movie, dinner, dessert, craft and free dance for $20/3 hours) and dh and I had plans to go to dinner with friends, but they cannot go now. I'd just as soon save my money and eat at home now.

Better go get dressed. Have a good day, and Ann, I hope ds has a wonderful time!!!!

Ann- I have to say your community does such neat things for children. If our community did have of that stuff, I bet our children wouldn't get in as much trouble.

Jenn- I hope that your dd has fun tonight, and you too no matter what you decided to do.

We are supposed to have a cook out tonight, but the guy who was bringing the meat is now unsure he will be able to come because he got called into work, so I am going to have to run to town and buy meat in a few. I also have to clean the kitchen and seeable parts of the house. We will be outside most of the time, but I am sure people will have to use the restroom, etc...

    Have a great day everyone!

We got woken up by the cat several times last night. (wondering aimlessly around the house meowing loudly ) Were are also ferret sitting for the weekend... and they woke me up once or twice scratching at the door of their pet taxi trying to get out to run and play. Dd forgot their cage at home so am trying to keep them in their pet taxi during the night... I guess they don't like it. Ugh. Hopefully tonight, between the cat and the ferrets, we'll maybe get some sleep. LOL

Haircuts this morning... going out to supper to Timber Lodge with some very good friends tonight. Not too sure what were going to do after that, maybe take in a movie. A trip to SAM's later and that's about it.

Hope you all have a great day.

Set in stone plans today are to clean up the schoolroom and clean my van. Oh, yeah, and the dinner at church tonight. Looks like I won't be doing the fruit flower basket after all... Each care group was assigned something different to do/bring. Our care group was assigned set up and tear down of tables and chairs. At least I have the next potluck planned, LOL! I think it was a pretty smart way to do it though. Our care group has the most gringos, and I think they gave the cooking duties to those who know what birria is all about! I can't wait though because we are giving pastor and his wife a trip to Jerusalem as a gift and also a piece of property they have been looking at.
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

Ann - Sounds like a fun night - I'm always amazed at the neat things done for your youth there.

Renee ~ ITA about that movie! I don't think I could watch it as an adult - I remember it being so sad when I watched it as a kid! Have a fun family day and enjoy having your dad to yourself!!!

I think winter is back! We are in a winter storm watch. We could get 6 to 12 inches by Monday. I really hope it just misses us like all the other storms do.

We were out late last night. Actually went to the bar after bowling. This is no nightclub type bar. It's a dinky dingy type bar. They did have live music (Blues) but I didn't care for it. The smoke was so thick I had to take a shower when I got home and wash my clothes and coat. I can't help but wonder if these people know how stupid they look when they're wasted that bad. Not my kind of fun I guess.

Ds #1 has Musicalia tonight. It's the big music performance for the swing choir and some of the kids get to do their own talent performances. Ds plays guitar for the swing choir and some of his friends and him will be playing some popular songs (Green day ones I think). So we have that after church tonight.

Other than that I have groceries to get and preschool stuff to work on.

Karla, happy birthday to your dh

Ann, that sounds like such a neat idea. Don't those girls have a prom too in the Spring? Here in May all the Juniors and Seniors have prom.

    Have a great day!!
Wouldn't it be nice if every time we messed up our life we could press CTRL ALT DEL and start all over??

I've heard enough about Texas to make me move! LOL It sounds so fun there Ann. What a cool place to grow up, I love your neighbourhood. I hope ds feels better and has a wonderful time tonight.
Karla, happy birthday to your dh.

I woke with a migrane this am. I have had a headache for two days and it finally came to a blow today. Its still there but not alot, just more heavy head, stiff neck still and Im very shaky. We are going to visit fil today. Its an hour and half drive but maybe the sun will do me some good. Dh took the kids out today so I was able to rest which helped.
Last night we went to the church St. Pats dance. Got there with a girlfriend, dh was helping in the bar. We thought, OMG this is lame. LOL Not 40 ppl showed and most were seniors who were square dancing. She was ready to bolt but we went in for a drink. I didnt want to bail on it, especially since dh was one of the helpers. Well, I wound up having a great time. I really think that times like that are what you make of it. I knew a handful of people there from playing euchre with them so we had people to sit with and chat. One of the square dances came up again and someone grabbed dh and her dh took me and had us square dancing. It was such a riot. My girlfriend thought we were nuts but this will be something we look back at and smile, not frown about how I wanted to leave like she did. I'm a total dork so I ate it all up with laughter anyhow.
Came home to find ds3 with a fever and fussy. Took him into my bed to keep an eye on him and today he's fine. Go figure.
Hope you all have a good day
