    BOYS with that TONE

Man, Lately every conversation I have with ds is ugly, his tone of voice is so aggitated...like I was asking him to carry bricks....in a minute, just a second....Geesh.... I just hate the tone....anyone else go through this..he is 10, 11 in August....is this normal?

and then he wants to cuddle at night? but no conversation.

Been there, done that, still doing it, lol. Even at 15, there's the tone of voice, attitude, quiet demeaner/no conversation, but hugs every now and again too. Last night we layed on his bed together watching the last episode of House, which was nice cause it's been a long time since he's let me lay on his bed with him, lol (sshhh, don't tell his friends .

I get that from ds once in a while and he just turned 9. Think it's an age/testing thing, but I still don't like it!! At least he's not rolling his eyes at me....yet.

I don't think it's just a "boy" thing... my oldest dd started acting like that when she was already 8 years old! Talk about FRUSTRATING!!! LOL If it helps, he will eventually get over it... but not soon enough. LOL Be happy he still wants to cuddle...

My dd is that way but my ds isn't. It's annoying and frustrating.

dd#1 is starting to get past that phase thankfully. ds will get like that occasionally, but he is a pretty good spirited kid. Very soft hearted and wanting to help out. Likes to think he is the "MAN" of the house when dh is away.
One of my four year olds is starting in on it waaaayyy too early. Hope she gets it out of her system very quick.

I found with dd it was just best to ignore it. Just pretend I didn't even notice.

Yeah and when they're 15, 16, 17 you are a total idiot who couldn't possibly know as much as they do.

That's my 16 year old right now! You can't correct anything he says in the slightest way with out him turning it around and accusing us of calling him stupid. He IS smarter than us though, ya know, because he can do harder math problems than we can and he knows more about the guitar than we do. LOL!!

I have noticed this tone in daycare kids as young as 7!
