    Thursday

okay, this week is starting to suck. I am trying to reconcile that I am at my house all day instead of work. I think I could really do that except this is the first week also that the kids are out of all their summer programs and dd is BBOOORREEED. And like in true dd fashion, she is torturing me because she has nothing on her agenda. Everything I suggest she poo poos and then she whines or picks on ds because she has nothing better to do. Maybe I should have a margarita lunch. LOL

Amy, I have one word for you that will stop all complaints real fast.
    CHORES!!
Seriously, tell her that from now on, she has to find something to keep her occupied. If she whines or complains one more time, since you have given her options already that she has poo poo'd, you start handing out chores. You can find plenty for her to do, and they may not be all that fun. I do that with the boys and it's amazing how fast they are no longer bored. LOL

Not sure if it's going to rain today or not. I hope not, kids have their play this afternoon for day camp. Rain date is tomorrow.
No other plans, just finishing the laundry (where is that laundry fairy?).
Hope you all have a good day

Ds1 goes back to school today. I'm wondering if we could do dual-enrollment and still have things work for him.

Not much on for today other than that. Just some little stuff to get done that I've been procrastinating. Maybe I'll get a chance to declutter a bit, too. Stuff is getting out of hand.

Amy, I totally agree with Mel! If your dd wants to make your life miserable then you can return the favor.

Mel, I hope the rain stays away for the play. Good luck to your ds's!
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

Amy... Sorry you're having a sucky week. Hopefully your dd will find something on her own (that she likes) to do and give you the break you need. (((HUGS)))

Up early because of dh's meeting this morning. I'm planning on hitting a few more garage sales... might go with Dawn but not too sure about that yet. If I don't hear from her pretty soon I'm going on my own and maybe meet up with each other a little later. I'm not in the "best" mood... got into a little tiff with my mom last night and it's left me feeling pretty ticked off. I don't like/appreciate being TOLD what I'm going to do. I'm 52 years old and don't need anyone "telling" me anything. Then she gets all huffy about it and starts yelling when I told her "no". Well... of course I gave in. She knows I'm not happy about it, but doesn't care because again... she's getting her own way. I couldn't imagine MAKING someone go/do something they know they don't want to do. Ugh... I love her dearly, but I swear that sometimes she takes advantage of the fact that because she's old, she can get away with it. Right now I don't even want to call/talk with her and I absolutely hate feeling that way. Anyway... I know it will pass, but I'll probably carry some resentment that she did it. Sorry for making this a vent post. LOL

Dd just called all upset because her fiancee (security at the Mall of America) has to work an extra 4 hours this morning. Evidently there have been some terrorist threats and he's got to stay/help check things out. He couldn't go into detail but I guess at this point the last place I'd want to be right now is at the MOA. I'm sure he'll be fine but the scare is still there.

Got a small load of laundry to do and that's about it for my day. Hope you all have a good one.

Amy, I'm with the others - chores it is. I have a girlfriend who does that; as soon as someone says they're bored, she hands out work to do - takes care of the whining in a snap.

Not much going on. Dd has a pizza party/goodbye party for her golf coach today. Then I go to work and dh has a meeting at church.

It's raining and I'm LOVING it!

    Mel, enjoy the play!
Diane, (((hugs))) to your dd. I'm sure she is worried.
Pam, (((hugs))) to YOU. Seems strange school would start on a Thursday...?

Count me in on a margarita lunch Amy. (even though its only 6:35 am )

Kids are going to the Knott's Berry Farm for the last time this summer, need to get lunches made, ds is in the shower....dd waiting her turn....HEY she has been dry three nights in a row, and is so HAPPY!

Been so busy at work, I am tired just thinking about all the "honey do lists" I have to take care of today, especially since I will be gone all next week...YEAH. (seems like I have been forgiven, ok enough to get swamped with projects)

Back is still sore, so I am trying to baby it as best I can. I need to get ds a boogie board for his birthday which is next Saturday while we are gone, so I want to give it to him this Saturday so he can use it at the beach. I got the surf board waxed and outta the garage, ds and dd want me to teach them, s so I am hoping my body will agree. I am really starting to get excited about this next week, I still wish I had a pal to hang out with, but I think it might be a good thing for me to be alone and get some ME time.

I've had a headache since the beginning of the week and I still have it. The stress of a very long busy week at work and then filling out that job application/resume kicked my butt. I finally got the resume done and typed in the computer last night. I was able to apply for 3 jobs when I got home from work today. I hope one of them leads some where. I know there are a few more coming up soon, so I'm not too worried about it at the moment. All the jobs are for a desk clerk position at places that deal with kids (youth center, preschool, etc.). I have tomorrow off and we are going to see "Barnyard". I'm looking forward to another 3 day weekend!

I agree with everyone else. If she can't find something for herself to do than I'm sure you can find something for her to do. LOL It's nice for kids to be kept busy and involved... but YOU shouldn't have to be the one to make it that way. When my kids were little, they pretty much, like me/my sisters did when we were little... found our own entertainment. We read a lot of books, watched tv or went outside and hung out with friends. We'd get a game of kickball/basketball going... played with our barbies/dolls, went for long walks, and once in a while we'd bake a cake or some cookies. Kids just aren't satisfied doing simple things anymore... they always want to be running somewhere. LOL Hope things get better for you... (((HUGS))))

I just had to post an update to my earlier post, lol. Ds1 got completely ready for school this morning and then decided that he wanted some of his sister's lotion (which she obliginly applied for him). SO, ds is all ready to go with Raspberry Glitter Lotion which dd put on his neck. I couldn't see letting him start the first day of 5th grade that way, so I sent him in to take a bath. It was really hard (again) putting him on that bus and watching it pull away. I keep thinking it's supposed to get easier.

Jenn, thanks for the hugs. I don't know why we start on a Thursday. Maybe just so the kids (and teachers?) aren't thrown back into it all 100% right at the get-go?

Renee, be careful of your back on that board!

Diane, I hope things stay safe for your dsil and all involved.

Vea, could your asthma/allergy thing be because the windows were open? Hope you get some relief soon.

Jen, that's an awful long time to go w/the same headache. If it gets worse you should probably have it checked out. (pita, I know, but...)
Today is a new day and a good day to start anew.

Dh is golfing and ds's are at my mom's, so it's just dd and I. She is in the getting into everything 24/7 stage. Maybe that's why I haven't been posting - because I know as soon as I get on here I'll have to stop a gazillion times to take something away from her, get her out of ds's room, etc. LOL Heading in to work this afternoon for 2 appt's.

Amy - Hope things get better. Does she have a friend who could come over?

Jen - Hope your headache goes away.

Pam - ROFL about the lotion!!

Sounds like everyone's got a lot going on today.

Got my Dad moved. I'm so glad he's only a stone's throw away now. I can go back and see him again tomorrow . Dad said the nurses at the home in Brampton bought him a cake and a card and had a party for him in his room last night. One nurse (his fave) cried. She put a picture of her and my Dad i the card. Another today told one of Dad's friend's from his floor that she was leaving with Jack and moving with him, lol. He sure enjoyed it there. I bought them a nice card and some flowers. The new place looks nice and everyone we spoke/dealt with today was nice too.

How nice of your dad's old nursing home staff. I'm sure they're going to miss him a lot. I'm sure in time he'll grow to like this place/staff just as much as the other place.
