AnnW I have a marketing idea for you

Ya'll may already have something like this - I usually just go into Starbucks for coffee beans. So....Some of us were talking at work about tipping Sonic car hops, and how its ridiculous to have to tip them for just walking out to your car. That made me think about the girls at my dry cleaners and how they not only walk out to my car and get the bag of dirty laundry out of my back seat, they bring the clean stuff and the debit card receipt out to me, and nobody ever tips them that I know of. So I thought I should do something for them around Christmas time. I was thinking I'd go to Starbucks and get about 6 cups of coffee and some muffins and cookies and drop it off for the staff some morning. Which brings me to you. It would be great if Starbucks would package something like that - a Thank You Pack. It would be awesome it they'd deliver it for me like a florist, but I'm not greedy. Whacha think?

I'm not Ann... but Wow, I think that would be a GREAT gift... to anyone. I know I wouldn't mind getting something like that delivered to my door. LOL I'm supposing though that having to hire delivery people might be an issue though.

That's part of the program that I have created! Great minds! LOL

Order a Coffee Traveler. It's $12.99. You will get complete set up with cups, cream, sugars ect. Right now, it's got a great Christmas type wrapper on it and you could right a note on it. The coffee will stay warm for about 2 hours, rather than 10 minutes in the cup.
call ahead or order it the day before and it will be waiting for you when you get to your Starbucks.

Very cool - I wondered about the individual cups.....how many cups to get, etc. I'll find our nearest Starbucks (I buy my beans from the one in Tom Thumb, but I don't really like that one) and do that at least for my dry cleaners. i may do it for some of the support staff at ds's school, too. nobody ever seems to do anything for the music teacher or the SLP.

Must be - the service is always slow and they never have what I want.

Good to know. I just meant if I was buying actually cups of coffee rather than the traveler i wasn't sure how many to get. The traveler is much better. That way people won't be wondering "um, why did she think only 6 people work here?" Now that I think about it, I think dh got one of those travelers for a baseball game once. That'll work great, but I still wish there was some kind of a package already made up.

Are you having much sucess with the marketing or is it still too early to tell?

Well, the package is made up, it's a traveler for $12.99! LOL The traveler works so much better than trying to handle drinking trays ect. Plus, it's easier to 'travel' with. They also have holiday pastry packages too. The best thing for you to do is order a traveler and for pastries, get a box of gingerbread loaf and a box of cranberry bliss bars. They come in cute holiday sleeves too. If you asked, they would probably put them in a short handle bag with some tissue (like a gift bag).

It's too early to tell really.

Sounds like it would be a nice surprise gift for a small office, like dh's. LOL I'm going to find out who all drinks coffee there and if there would be enough coffee drinkers... might do something like this for them for Christmas. It would be nice if they could deliver... but I think coffee would be a very hard thing to transport. LOL

It seems like everywhere I look there is a new Starbucks going up, and a lot of them aren't all that far away from the other. LOL There is some real competition between the Starbucks and the Caribou coffee place here.

The only other Starbucks we have is inside a grocery store here and seems like a pain for people who want to grab a drink/treat on their way to work. This new location will be much more convenient!! We have 2 Caribous I think and a couple of Dunn Brothers. I am excited about this new Starbucks.
