    Casino party

Ds1 will be 18 on the 10th of Jan. I have permission from dh to hire dealers and have a casino party!! Not sure of the date because we have to work around wrestling tournaments, but it will be sometime in January. Any ideas?

They come to your house, so we'll have it here. They can't use real money, so I need ideas for prizes that they can cash their winnings in for. I'm thinking stuff like Starbucks gift cards, Mavs tickets, etc. Party City has decorations, but the dealers/tables will be a big expense, so anywhere I can save money would be great. Food and drink ideas, yes! We'll be doing poker and balck jack, and if I can talk the company into throwing in a 3rd table at a discounted rate, we'll have something else - not sure what.

That was my first thought, too. Then I remembered that ds probably wouldn't want any vegetables on the sub sandwiches, so how good is that? Maybe pizza, but I'd like to do something a little creative. There will be girls here too, I'm sure.

you could still do the sandwhich idea, just lay out cold cuts and they could build them themselves.....Pizza works too....our local supermarket deli makes up trays too..

How about some (on sale?) DVD's (Wal-Mart...etc.).

    McDonald's gift cards

4 Pack of Red Bull (or similar Energy Drink)

    Fuzzy Dice

    Blockbuster gift card

Itunes card (is that popular with that age group?)

Are you playing Texas Hold 'Em? Is that poker?? LOL

Fun idea. I was at a wedding reception last year that had a casino game theme. It was so much fun!!! They also hired the dealers, and rented the tables. Total blast!!

Sounds like fun. I like Ann's idea for food. Would do chips/dip, munchies too. Or pizza and chicken wings, veggie platter, munchies if they don't want subs.

Do you have a dollar store nearby? Sometimes they have things like mugs and glasses with card pictures on them. Most dollar stores here have a party section and have a lot of theme stuff there, go with red, black and white otherwise. Have fun!

dd thought about doing something like this for her wedding reception until she found out just how expensive it was. It would have been a fun thing to do though. I'm sure your ds and his friends are going to be just thrilled.

They're not that much - they start at $9 each.

    I think that's what he'll want. Yes, it's a version of poker.

I was surprised - it's not as expensive as I thought it would be. And, I'm going to try to negotiate because this has got to be a slow time of year for them.
