I have ds3 home today, he had a mild fever this am. He's been sneezing and sniffing, watery eyes earlier. We've actually been pretty lucky so far this year but knew we were not out of the woods yet. Everyone else seems fine.
Was going to meet dh for lunch, maybe tomorrow. I'm hoping ds will want to snuggle soon and take a nap, he looks so tired but will really fight it. All plans out the window today. lol

Really? When I was dating, I never went on a date unless I was able to pay. When dh and I started dating, sometimes I would pay, sometimes he would.

Tired, my feet are killing me, day was busy and full, put my finger right through my nylons around 9:00 am, spilled coffee on a report I had just finished, and got sick of hearing about my hair.... I know it was nice to have the compliments but it got a little old as the day wore on, kids called me bickery around 3:30 PM dh was late getting home, his nose is bent, since I declined on the TUNA pot pie, sorry it didn't sound good to me, but ds loved it...weird...I ate some chips and a brownie....

TV and jammies are in my future.

dh always insisted on paying. I never had to. Not that I wouldn't, but he was always the one asking. LOL

You didn't even TRY the tuna? I think I would have been curious enough to at least try it. LOL Was this from a recipe or something he made up himself? I hope your evening improved with your jammies on and some good tv viewing.

Renee, I make a tuna quiche that's good and dd LOVES my tuna burgers, but I don't know about a tuna pot pie. Glad to hear ds liked it; must be a male thing.

I'm with the girls who think "you ask me out, you pay the bill". That's the way dh and I always did it - then again he made a lot more $$ than me.
When we went to dinner for mil's b'day last week, dh's niece and her serious boyfriend came and I noticed she paid for their 2 dinners... wonder what the agreement was there???


Mel, hope your ds feels better by now.

I am ready for a nap!!! The 2nd graders were crazy last night! They woke me up at 11:30 to tell me they were scared to fall asleep (they had been telling each other exaggerated stories). I sat in there with them and got them to start naming off their favorite foods (cotton candy, ice cream etc and find out later that that topic turned out to be a mistake). I go back to bed. Dd wakes up at 12:20, I get her back to sleep and doze off. 1:15 the hall light goes on and I find the 3 boys chatting away in the kitchen with the fridge wide open and every light possible on saying they're starving. I say, "No, you're not, you're tired." Get them back upstairs and I am under the assumption that my tone convinced them that they were tired and NOT hungry, but apparently not....I barely dozed off and woke up to them playing BASKETBALL in ds's room at 1:45!!! Needless to say, it was a long night. I think I'd rather have a newborn baby than 3 2nd graders. LOL One boy left to be picked up and I am hoping to hold off dd's nap until then.

I hope you got to nap some time today, Karla... and hopefully you'll be sleeping a whole lot better tonight.

Well, I don't think my husband would like it.
No, I was too shy and scared to death to even talk to a boy that I liked, much less ever ask him out.
I don't think I'd be upset if my dd asked a guy out (MUCH later down the road). And then I guess yes, I'd expect her to pay, or at least offer to or offer to go dutch.

if it was something for my family, i would have paid. he was my guest and wouldn't have probably been there if it wasn't for me.

I also expect the men to hold a door for me, not necessarily the car door, but when we enter a resturant or building. I have taught ds this. Somethings never go out of style.
